He will probably become a star just like most players that leave the Galaxy.

LOL! I can't believe this, I really hope he gets signed. That is ALOT of useless money of our roster. With Cristmann retiring we must have a lot of money to get a quality player... i hope o_O

For whatever reason, Chad has not had a lot of success here. Hopefully he can do better elsewhere and we could free up salary for someone with more potential. He is a slightly better shooter than Simon Elliott.

He was pretty decent for a rotational striker last season....seven goals, five assists in 1583 minutes. He's really been terrible this year, though. Probably time for him to move on.

Barrett was solid for us last year; I remember most of those goals last year being clutch. Like in the Crew game, in Columbus.

What's the reason he hasn't been able to duplicate that success this season? Easy, he switched to the cursed LAG #9 jersey. Time to go.

I think Pando's the only one who came close to skying as many balls over the goal in a Galaxy uniform...

I do remember Nate Jaqua nailing a diving header into the ground and over the goal, which takes a special skill set to do.

If we lose him, I am glad he is going to Norway. All we need is another Gordon 2.0 to score on us like crazy again.

Maybe because is slow, can't trap the ball, dribble, or shoot straight?

That Villareal goal must have Barrett concerned if the loan doesn't work!!

It would be a good step in the right direction.

Does anyone remember his ankle blow out?
He is lucky he is playing at all. It takes a year for an injury like that to go away physically and mentally. And yes he was a big part of winning the Cup last year.
Watch out next year when he turns all the non-believers into believers.

Unfortunately, for Chad, I don't think the Galaxy will give him a year to recover. I don't know if his contract for next year is guaranteed, but I would expect that if he stays with the Galaxy he would need to take a salary cut. If he goes overseas, he may be able to get a net bump.

I think a lot of this has to do with his contract coming up. He knows he won't get another 200k+ contract in MLS, but oversea clubs without the salary cap might fling 200-300k at a player on the chance he might be a serviceable pool forward....

Sounds like a decision will be made on Barrett soon. I wouldn't expect them to trot him out and possibly get injured in a friendly while Verelenga is making up its mind. Perhaps they would hold him out of the Dallas game too.

Anyone have any update on this? I'm almost 100% positive he was in the players' box on Saturday so he must be back stateside.

Edit: Oooops. Benny Dargle answered my question as I was posting!

No word on a transfer yet, BUT

Last night Chad was seen driving a brand new Fjord.

Looks like a good situation for Chad and it's good for the Galaxy as well.
