There was an item about our boy in the business section of today's NY Post (4/26):

"Qwest Communications International Inc. founder Philip Anschutz may pay $4.4 million to settle charges by New York State Attorney General Eliot Spitzer that he improperly profited from initial public offerings, sources said. Anschutz, with personal wealth of almost $5 billion according to Forbes magazine, won't admit guilt as part of an agreement that may be reached by early next week."

  2. Sign of a bogus case brought by Spitzer -- this is no victory for him. $4.4 million may sound like a big settlement but that's about what it would cost Anschutz to continue to litigate this case to conclusion after trial. It's easier to settle and be done with it.

Perhaps this will encourage NJ to take Anshutz Phil off their "enemies list" and maybe this Stadium thing will start to happen. Hope springs eternal.
