Seen it in the UK, it is pretty bad. But if you are an Eastenders kind of person I guess it is staight up your alley. Guess thats why my sister in law liked it.

There is so many gorgeous babes on Eastenders, does anyone in the States know how I can get this show on my tube? BTW, I never knew the British had quite a few good-looking females, it's something I recently took notice of.

I watched the very beginning and it looked like too much for me to stomach and was erased from the ol' Tivo.

BUT....I was happy to see that Leon from Dream Team has apparently lived on in this show!

If I can sit through "Melrose Place" and "The Secret Life Of Us", I can certainly stomach "Footballers' Wives". And so can my wife.

Sure, it's tacky. And it's crap. But it's tacky crap done very well. :)

Eastenders used to be on BBC Amerca everyday. It then got relegated to one day per week for a couple of hours at time. I don't know if they still carry it or not. You can check with them at www.bbcamerica.com to find out.

Lol, is this what living in Australia has done to you?

    Even bigger Lol.
I can think of perhaps one - but even she looks like a swimmer half the time.

Nah, I was like this long before I moved overseas. :)

We do get a lot of import shows over here, though-- American and British imports alike. In fact, Network Ten used to piggyback "Footballers' Wives" immediately following "Secret Life" on Monday nights a couple of years ago. Good combination of a programming decision, if you ask me.

Sort of off-topic, but there's actually quite little of original Aussie-made programming here that I would watch if there's something else of similar quality from the USA or the UK on the same night. Not to mention that the networks can purchase the import shows fairly cheaply through syndication rights.

Back to "Footballers' Wives", I saw a DVD of the first season in one of the shops a while back. So the show's been around for a while.

Footballers Wives is good fun - I understand the game in the UK was guessing which real life player/incident was supposed to be being portrayed.

    Footballers' Wives: 2 Thumbs Up

I have seen the first 2 seasons of Footballers' Wives on DVD and they are brilliant. Can't wait for the 3rd season to come out. It is much more edgy than Dream Team (which is not available on DVD), which still has 5 more seasons for us to catch up with in America. In fact, I have asked HBO to air FW or have an American version. We should have every English football documentary/soap/talkshow aired in America. They are all great entertainment.

I am watching the show now on Trio. Seems like Dream team with much less footy stuff. Glad to see Leon again! Hope he doesn't die this time..........

Ladies and gentlemen, I am going to try and see if I can hire the DVD of "Footballers' Wives" at the local Blockbuster here.

Reading this thread has piqued my interest again-- and same can be said for my wife, too...

Please don't call it "telly." How un-American.

You cannot buy the DVDs of Footballers' Wives here in America but you can order them online from the UK:

    Go to: www.blackstar.co.uk

This is the UK's best source of video and DVD for soccer (football), comedy, and any kind of TV series and films.

Unfortunately, you will need a Multi-region DVD player to watch them. But they are cheap too (under $200).
