Protecting the snowflakes: You really REALLY want to read this piece. The kinetics of the story any publisher wld love. But the piece tells you a huge amount abt the role of journalism in today's political environment. Very important stuff https://t.co/llNF9qJCJc— Josh Marshall (@joshtpm) March 16, 2023
Well, this is....interesting. Honestly, I thought that this would have happened earlier. Of course it was picked up by several politicians (ex: Lauren Boebert) before being debunked. Leading Denier Think Tank Uses AI Image of Dead Whale and Wind Turbines
Yeah, your run of the mill firebrand! So brazen anti-Muslim, antisemitic, anti-trans bigotry, and insane conspiracies about Hillary Clinton torturing kids and murdering her opponents, are reduced by a storied American news brand merely to ‘intense and in-your-face’. This is equal parts embarrassing and reckless. https://t.co/bRVHrfqidJ— Mehdi Hasan (@mehdirhasan) March 31, 2023
Yeah, we all know about all that Obama criminal spree… So what you're saying is that all other former presidents were going around committing crimes before, during and after their presidencies and we just chose to ignore it until now?Is that the theory you're advancing?— Pizza delivery is NOT a human right (@kilday_morgan) March 31, 2023
Old news: 67!!! Cable news is dying. Fast. “Despite CNN’s ongoing ratings struggles, the network does currently boast the youngest audience in cable news with an average at 67, Fox’s viewers average 69, and MSNBC’s average 70.” https://t.co/KkdQQWAYit— Paul Rieckhoff🇺🇸🇺🇦 (@PaulRieckhoff) March 31, 2023 Hopefully cable operators and others kick Fox out of their roster or lower their fees substantially…

They were talking Fox “News” hosts or contributors, but the amount of conservative personalities that hold degrees from prestigious universities AND attack the intellectual elites is astounding. An interesting discourse has been happening in the UK about the woke elites who supposedly control the country (summary of the argument below). The background is 13 years of failed Tory rule and failed Brexit. Now apparently the reason for this is the Tories failed to confront the woke elites who really run the country. Obviously this is a rather stupid argument, even given the fact that professionals will tend to skew liberal. The establishment tends to be reactionary and conservative. But what sticks out to me is that data shows that Tories are now so well to the right of the average voter, that they are even well to the right of their own voters. So basically the centrist establishment looks left wing to them. It's a sign of how unplugged from reality these people are whilst believing they are centrists. It reminds me very much of what we keep hearing from the MAGAe in the US
Or,and hear me out, people at their core are tribalist, xenophobic, and potentially violent, particularly when they feel threatened with loss of control.
grand conjunction of wrongs? The New York Times quoted war crimes-authorizer John Yoo at length—giving him space to defend Thomas and attack the ProPublica piece as racist—without examining Yoo’s own obviously close relationship with Harlan Crow. https://t.co/96ePviB0Pe pic.twitter.com/FiFcBOYRYq— southpaw (@nycsouthpaw) April 8, 2023
Well, the anthropological question is are we more like chimps or like bonobos? Chimps are more "warlike" while bonobos are more sex-loving "peaceniks". We are genetically equally distant to both.
