Weird way to advocate for people suffering economic anxiety: Reporter grills Karine Jean-Pierre about if Biden considers Trump supporters who think the 2020 election was stolen to be "MAGA Republicans," as if he would be wrong to do so. Strange line of questioning. pic.twitter.com/E7duJQhhic— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) September 6, 2022
FFS!!! All are media outlets turning into conservative freakoids? Not great, @politico. (It seems he denied it… until he was presented with the email where he did it)https://t.co/0HbwhwINFn— The Tennessee Holler (@TheTNHoller) September 6, 2022
Seems like they’re dropping any pretense of professional standards: Another reporter asks Press Secretary Jean-Pierre if she will take Ted Cruz up on his offer to visit the southern border. Her response is very good. pic.twitter.com/Wa7NSaAsoe— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) September 6, 2022
Et tu Bloomberg? You gotta be fucking kidding, man https://t.co/x515NtAdsK pic.twitter.com/87T9pxq7a1— Jay Willis (@jaywillis) September 7, 2022
What she needs to do is answer any (and I mean ANY) question coming from anyone with any sort of conservative leaning with a laugh and say, "next question". That's essentially what Trump's folks did. Goose, gander.
I would not suggest that approach, but a slightly softer one, stating that this administration, unlike its predecessor, follows the rules and laws applicable to the matter and/or are examining the right policies to address the issue.
The schmuck asking the question already knows this, but s/he's chosen the wrong team and is fighting to make your statement seem false. This is not a gentleman's war.
I understand, but you have to make the point again and again, otherwise the silence will be exploited too.
I’m sure the queen would be delighted… CNN is currently doing a panel discussion about if Biden should invite Trump to the Queen's funeral. Jake Tapper says it would be "clever" for Biden to do it. pic.twitter.com/PB6vQK9FpL— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) September 9, 2022
Good thread! There is a profound crisis in American media because there has been a collapse of trust between news organizations and the public. Below is a staggering example. Let’s go through it. 1. 678 days have passed since the 2020 election that Trump lost.— Steve Schmidt (@SteveSchmidtSES) September 12, 2022
Highly recommended! Steve Schmidt on Twitter: "4/ The book was a transaction between publicists not a newsworthy revelation. The reporter @maggieNYT suppressed important information from the public so she could make money with her side hustle." / Twitter
Haberman's connection to the Kushner empire was something I don't recall hearing about, but which is . . . let's go with "problematic."
A recent poll said that 80% of Americans do not follow politics closely. 80%. Statements like you suggest don't effect the 20% of us who do follow politics closely. Statements like she made, as a professional, do effect the 80% the voters who don't follow politics closely.
@DougJBallon is the NTY pitchbot, just in case... This is a @DougJBalloon Tweet. pic.twitter.com/Hs7IAaL6EC— A.J. Bauer (@ajbauer) September 14, 2022
Cross-reference with the consequential dead people thread: Wait! If Starr was sex obsessed it was not how you imply. He allowed athletes to rape women at Baylor; helped out on the 2097 Epstein plea deal, and recommended community service not jail for his friend who admitted to molesting 5 girls. Clinton wasn’t about sex, just politics.— s-monk (@thesmonk) September 13, 2022
He was such partisan trash. Meanwhile, Donald Trump was investigated by a registered Republican who bent over backwards for him, and all he did was SHRIEK about a WITCH HUNT. If the rules aren't cooked in favor of Repubicans, they think the process is patently unfair.
Peter Baker is joke.....The king of bad takes. I follow Soledad just for her comments calling those clowns out. Oh hmmm Mr. Baker left out the college rape stuff from his tweet thread. Interesting. https://t.co/KINJ23Pjhh— Soledad O'Brien (@soledadobrien) September 14, 2022
Stop trying to make Air Force One happen Gretchen! So he should only vote in elections you deem “important?” Is that how it goes? When the Con took his weekly jaunts to one of his golf clubs and charged the government for secret service accommodations, did you point that out in your tweets?— Tina Conway 🇺🇸 (@tinatc26) September 15, 2022
Stats bro becomes bothsides pundit. What are the odds? Opinion | I became famous doing data-based analysis of elections. Here’s why I became a conservative pundit. https://t.co/3GizTs8ZU9— New York Times Pitchbot (@DougJBalloon) September 17, 2022
Some muckety muck in my co. put a QEII tribute out on the company chat thingy. Was sooo tempted to blast the monarchy. But in these economic times it's not worth the battle & my wife killing me.
Ditto for Alex Jones, Glenn Beck & Fox News blowhards This came across my Instagram feed today, and it's 💯 pic.twitter.com/skCmOWLSAj— Kevin Gannon (@TheTattooedProf) September 19, 2022
That's pretty much it. I've been calling it a "discontent factory" for years now. But that never occurred to me that once Limbaugh ceased operations, he pretty much vanished from the culture. But there are, alas, plenty more where he came from.
