I don't understand the logic of telling your staff to stay quiet while their rights are being taken away. https://t.co/3e7XwY2Pv8— Noah Shachtman (@NoahShachtman) May 11, 2022
So it took them 6 hours and they had to take the day off, bring their own supplies and count jellybeans. Why do you think that’s difficult? 1528049486383263749 is not a valid tweet id
San Francisco *is* a "jarringly unequal city,* but that isn't because of a progressive prosecutor; it's because we've set up an *insufficiently progressive* economy. It's because we let poor people suffer for the sake of keeping billionaires' taxes low. pic.twitter.com/DiPnqqOsfN— Jamison Foser (@jamisonfoser) May 21, 2022 Really looking forward to the deluge of pieces in The Atlantic and the New York Times about conservative governance turning Jacksonville into a crime-ridden hellhole, which I assume will begin any day now. https://t.co/1HHinzTT4J— Jamison Foser (@jamisonfoser) May 21, 2022

Lighting deaths have not quadrupled in the las two decades.. The difference is that one of these "events" is absolutely within our control to prevent. Don't use false equivalencies. It's bad journalism.— Johnny.Utah of Utah (yew-tah) (@UT_Thnkr20) May 27, 2022

Interesting article about a quasi fake news company run by a conservative. https://talkingpointsmemo.com/cafe/what-a-viral-fake-news-story-on-race-based-grading-tells-us Anyway, the main point is, Abraham Lincoln was right…half the stuff in the internet is BS.
Why isn't Biden catering to the double and triple digit billionaire constituency? "Biden's beef with @elonmusk seems to be a big missed opportunity — politically....He has helped turn the most famed entrepreneur of our time, even if erratic, from being a Biden supporter — Musk voted for him — to a vocal backer of Republicans."https://t.co/foFH8VeCqd— Andrew Ross Sorkin (@andrewrsorkin) June 6, 2022
Why doesn't Biden cotton up to a guy who knowing and willingly violates SEC regulations again and again and again (he did so with his Twitter offer, by filing late on his statement of ownership, which enabled him to buy Twitter stock at a cheaper price than if he had made his filing -- technically, that was insider trading), because he relies on being too big to be punished? I answered my own question. Good for him.
The NYT opinion desk has assembled a diverse group of voices to declare the Jan. 6th Committee hearings a disappointment before they begin. pic.twitter.com/pvh1LVIGRN— southpaw (@nycsouthpaw) June 8, 2022
That a top reporter from no less than the NYT can come spew this BS propaganda on national tv is simply gross. The guy is basically Ivanka and her own husband mouthpiece....******** you Peter Baker. On MSNBC, the grotesque extent to which @peterbakernyt is fluffing Jared and Ivanka to promote his book is even more blatant than in print. They chose him to do their PR for them, and he is outdoing himself. The NYT should cut him loose. pic.twitter.com/lCutJUWo6C— Dan Froomkin (PressWatchers.org) (@froomkin) June 9, 2022
At least here, Stephanie Ruhle called this moron Jeremy Peters out on this utter garbage. It’s not just Baker. This exchange between Stephanie Ruhle and Jeremy Peters was so good. pic.twitter.com/z7OX5oNaR4— Sundaynista (@Sundaynista) June 9, 2022
The funny part is that twitter stock price is now so low that Elon is trying to worm out of having to buy it (at the offered price) or paying the breakup fee.
Here's a classic example of conservative media bias. I read an article yesterday about how New York financial companies are having trouble getting their workers to come back to the office, because public-transit crime is rising. That has become a ubiqutious talking point/meme of the right -- urban crimes are increasing because of permissive Democrats and the defund the police movement. From a recent ABC report that combed through the NYC crime statistics. Everything Republicans say is an invention, with the intent to deceive. And very often, it does. Oh, and Joe Biden was President in 2021, which occurred after the defund the police movement. So where are those articles about how Democrats have made the cities safer? Yeah of course, that ain't happening.
When crimes happen under Republicans, it's because the criminals don't respect authority. When crimes happen under Democrats, it's because the Democrats don't exert authority.
Matt “Piñata” Yglesias”: Drunk driving remains rare and the fact that most people don't do it proves that there shouldn't be any legal alcohol limit— I Groomed George Santos 🇺🇦 (@Jimmcnary) June 15, 2022 The point of a mandate is to make people do something they wouldn’t do voluntarily, so your take is nonsensical (unless your analysis doesn’t extend beyond “do what’s popular,” which is pretty useless)— PDG887 (@PDG887) June 14, 2022 “Hey Siri, what’s a non sequitur?”— Mood the Obscure (@AnnaliseFern11) June 15, 2022
This Yglesias guy has become such a clownish character, not even funny. Trying to be a contrarian just for the sake of it, is never a good look.
A nearly universal American belief -- all conservatives, nearly all independents, most liberals -- is that San Francisco has become more dangerous. The actual fact: Violent crimes are the lowest they have been in several decades. Violent crime rates per year - 1990 - 1.4% 2000 - 0.65% 2010 - 0.7% Today - 0.55% https://www.sfchronicle.com/crime/article/San-Francisco-crime-rate-17065509.php The left has great trouble getting even its own side to believe what is actually happening, and the right has great success in convincing even the other side of what is not happening. Now that's controlling the media.
