Best of luck Bunji. I always liked him, he never made a fuss, always gave his all, and seemed to help organize the defense.

Not true, say the club. I would be very surprised if we were letting him go now. It's worth bearing in mind that Mabizela is at the African Nations, Perry was sold, Richards is struggling with injury and Ledley is doubling up in midfield. We have no-one in the reserves / youth setup ready to step in and play centre back just yet, so releasing Bunje would not be worth it.

Saying that though, after Mabizela gets back or if we sign a defensive midfielder so Ledley can move back, then Bunje is definitely on the list of expendables. He's better than Acimovic but still not suited to the Premiership.

My guess is that with Brown now in the team, Redknapp returning to health and a new manager coming in next summer, that moving Bunji makes sense now. It's not the safest move, but if you want to move him out, and someone is interested now, I suspect Spurs will make the move. Remember, we have Carr, Kelly, Marney, and Taricco (not to mention Jacko) who can play fullback, so we only need 2 center backs from Gardner, Doherty (doing fairly well right now) and Ledley. Richards will be back eventually.
