it's hard to win when they continue to take legitimate goals away from us this is really terrible for the sport
What if Clint Dempsey's early goal is allowed and the US lets up and gives up 2 goals and never scores again? Huh, Huh? What about THAT???
I really hate FIFA for trying to f us over all the time. We would not have to keep relying on these late game heroics, despite the excitement we get from it. We would have already been sitting pretty comfortable.
So, no sense of humor? You took my post seriously? The US just won, laugh, join in the party, the disallowed goal is now, thank goodness, irrelevant.
I was especially relieved when Landon scored, because it would have left a really bad taste in my mouth if we went out with legit winners taken away in consecutive games. How often does that happen to a team? Also, the elbow to Dempsey's face in the second half that should have been a red card and a PK. We have still never been awarded a penalty kick in a World Cup - and there are a few we should have had.
As a coach for a youth team out of Idaho that continually gets results regionally, yet still can't buy respect, this hits home. I abhor the idea in all sports that you are rewarded or penalized based on reputation. The game and teams should be judged on merit. Sadly, I think the men's team is not.
