People need to realize that you're not going to replace one sport for the other. The best you can do is try to have the co-exist together without pissing people off doing it.

You don't sit there and tell people in a football town (Norman, OK) that soccer is better and for the following reasons. You present it as an alternative, as something else that's cool, instead of as a replacement and something that's better.

All this will do is make those people that are American football lovers even more defensive and spout off "soccer is for fags" stuff and people that aren't that into football still will be turned off of soccer because they're tired of having people tell them that they should like soccer and that the only reason they don't is because they don't understand it.

This guy's heart is in the right place that's about the only thing that's right.

i esp. like his closing line "its only a matter of time".

not as catchy as "..resistance is futile." but its nice none-the-less... and he's right about alot of things, that being said, he's nuts if he thinks OU is gonna kill football.

Mike Segroves has already killed him, pillaged his bank account, and taken his sisters as concubines.

This really doesn't relate to MLS, it belongs on the College boards.

i love soccer, as everyone here does, but carlo, the authour, needs to get a grip. he says ou should have a soccer team, because it wants to be among the best universities in the world. what one earth do sports teams have to do with that? all of his quotes are from international students. and even if ou had a team, who would they play, no big 12 schools have a men's varsity team.
