Re: Announcement Discussion Thread [R] Oh, man, this is not good. 2005 in KC is not guaranteed. I hope he can find a good local buyer.
Re: Announcement Discussion Thread [R] man... here's hoping KC can find a buyer. Andy, I hope YCJ turns into a massive moneymaker. Sachin
Re: Announcement Discussion Thread [R] "We do not have a specific timeline to make this happen, but we expect this process to move quickly."
Hopefully this is partly a ploy to get local goverment to commit to a stadium. If they do then I'd think finding a buyer might be likely? I'd like to hope so.
Re: Announcement Discussion Thread [R] condolences to the Wiz, ya'll are gonna have a nailbitter of an offseason.
Re: Announcement Discussion Thread [R] There is someone with money in KC who likes the Wizards: Lamar Hunt. You better hope there's another one, too.
Re: Announcement Discussion Thread [R] Season Ticket refunds? Doesn't that lead one to think they're expecting to move, or am I missing something there?
Re: Announcement Discussion Thread [R] I should have closed my door. Did he outright say he wants to sell before 2005 or did he just hint? I heard some hints, then got a visitor.
Re: Announcement Discussion Thread [R] Wizards will play in 2005, but Hunt is not aware of any buyers in the area. That may be because they did not announce the team was available before.
Re: Announcement Discussion Thread [R] "We *expect* that the Wizards will play the 2005 season." (paraphrase) WOW. "Expect" is not a guarantee.
Re: Announcement Discussion Thread [R] He's just bitter about Priest Holmes being out for the season.
Re: Announcement Discussion Thread [R] -- KC will play in '05. Just not necessarily in KC. -- Wizards have been "a financial drain" on the Chiefs. If nothing else, hand it to Lamar for coming out and giving this grim news himself -- the common procedure is for some corporate hack to just send out a press release, and answer questions through subordinates.
Re: Announcement Discussion Thread [R] No hope for a soccer specific stadium in KC at this time. No process under way at this time, not for the last three or four months or more.
