It was an old Revolution fanzine. Always a fantastice read. If the site is still up, it's http://www.pocm.com
... and in a strange turn of events, the site has now morphed to a weird "super ultimate" search page, registered in hong kong by former representatives of the second plenary session of the seventh central committee of the communist party of China. Imagine that ... ;^) Alan
A VERY special edition? Special? Sure. VERY special? I dunno... Is this sort of like when that announcer dude says something like "Next week, on a very special edition of 'ER'", and it turns out to be a pretty plain ol' ordinary edition of 'ER'???
Not that I'd know for sure, but I'd suspect that since the Supporters' Bash is being held at Blake's Tavern in Providence, that would be the place to look.
Who you callin' "Special"? But to have a voice as deep as that announcer dude you have to have at least three testicles. That aside, Georege Clooney was going to write an article for us, but he left us hanging. Neville Staples from The Specials was going to sing at the supporters summit for us, but that one fell through because he found out that we weren't really Coventry City in disguise (yeah, we've actually won a couple of games--I can't believe I can say that about our Revs!) And our tag line for every issue of publishing has always been "Special [fill in the blank] Issue" But yes, this is a very special issue for a couple of reasons: 1) The last time POCM published was at the end of the 2000 season 2) This is a double issue with Emerald City Gazette where if you turn it over you get the other zine 3) This is the last time you will ever see the PoCM name as a printed fanzine. So how special does it have to be to be "very" special?
Re: Who you callin' "Special"? It can't be too special. I don't recall seeing the word "blooter" anywhere in it.
We didn't even run new semi-naked pictures of Walter Zenga's girlfriend... ... but there is the dir rigguer "Zeitgeist" feature ;-) The Magpie
Correction: - J Hutcherson: An Interview with Peter Wilt. "Wilt for Commish" is just an editorialized headline. The author of the piece makes no such argument and expresses no such desire. The editorialized subheadline is "If MLS Commissioner Don Garber ever steps aside the league needs to look no further than Peter Wilt" We apologize for any confusion or consternation this may have caused. J Hutcherson had no hand in the copy editing. Please direct any comments, concerns, or consternation towards me. Andy Mead Emerald City Gazette
Re: Re: Announcement: A very special ECG/PoCM I will be be in Providence/Foxboro/Boston from Friday morning until just after the game on Sunday. I am staying at the Rider's hotel in Norwood. Both the Supporter's Summit and the Supporter's Bash are on the itinerary. Due to the man keepin' us down, there will be no sales at Gillette Stadium, nor in the parking lots.
