I'd say that the ultimate in bad salesmanship for the left is having Eleanor Clift on the tube opposing Ann Coulter. Her "Treason" book is very good, at least as it relates to McCarthy. I haven't bothered to read the Vietnam stuff yet, that's stuff I lived through so I'm not as interested in the details of liberals thinking that the Vietcong were the good guys - I saw enough of that firsthand. One image in my head exemplifies the dishonesty of the liberals in dealing with the commies - George McGovern saying "I yield to no one in my distrust of the communists, but......." and then trusting the hell out of them like he'd just fallen off of the turnip truck.
