Greg Andrulis has apparently masterminded a deal between the MLS and Liverpool which would send Milan Baros to Columbus Crew. The deal would require Columbus to use its two avaliable allocations for the Czech, who has been lighting up the nets in the Euro 2004 competition. Baros, who was avaliable for comment after his dramatic brace against the Danes, said that he was "excited" and "optimistic" about the chance to play with such top class players who currently put on the Crew jersey. He feels that this would be a move in the right direction for him, and would further aid in the development of the young strikers career. Major League Soccer would reportedly give Columbus $3.2m worth of cap relief to help accomodate Baros' salary, which would be a league record. "I have always dreamed of playing in the United States, and in Columbus. It is a top organization in a top league, with tremendous support. I only hope that I can live up to the fans expectations and do my best to bring the MLS cup to Columbus" Baros will next be seen in action as the Czech Republic take on European upstarts Greece in a semi-final match.
