(Meanwhile, back at the Ranch...) Incredibly, the guy who kept sending out extra defenders to try and hold the lead says we shouldn't do this. Well who was it that was responsible, Greg? The beer guy? http://www.ussocceruk.com/news/?CatTypeId=2&ContentId=883
The quote was in reference to the play at the beginning of the 2nd half and allowing Dallas to get their 2nd goal. To be fair, I don't see how this week's subs are so defensive. Where is that extra defender you talk of? Chacon for Martino? Garcia for West? McCarty for Oughton? It would appear he just subbed in similar players. If you're talking about a few weeks ago, I don't think that is relative to bring up. You do know that we've won 3 of 4 and the other being an important point taken out of Chicago, right?
I'm not referring to this week. Clearly, he did not hunker down, use one forward and pack the box, as he did regularly in June and July. The quote that brought it up: "We continue to have a little problem with handling prosperity," In this game, the "problem" was a small letdown by the on-field people. No argument. But HE seems to me to be relating it to late-game breakdowns earlier, for which he bears, IMO, a good deal of the blame.
Did you not think the timing of the subs made them somewhat for show? Am I the only one who thinks subs should go in earlier in the game?
I forgot to add the "Boom Boom" Stay tuned for my next corny joke which will probably not make you laugh.
