Andreas (Andi) Herzog, who was an assistant and U-23 Manager for the USA, was hired to be Israel's manager. He is Austrian, and he scored Austria's 90th minute equalizer in a 1-1 draw on 27 October 2001 that eliminated Israel from World Cup 2002 qualifying, as Austria finished second to Spain in that group. He played for clubs in Germany and Austria, most notably Bayern Munich, before ending with one year for the Los Angeles Galaxy in Major League Soccer (MLS) in 2004. He scored 104 goals for clubs and 26 for Austria, which is eighth most in their history. He had 103 caps and is the only player with at least 100 caps for Austria. That puts him tied for the 350th most career caps according to Wikipedia. In 2005, he became Austria's caretaker manager. From 2008 to 2016 he was an assistant and youth manager for Austria and then USA.
