i agree, with hes playing with someone playing the same position as him, its quite hard to play a game with someone in the same spot u wanna be in. they should let him play his own game. im not saying he will become god, but still, give him a go on his own.

HAHA De Rossi in the game against Ghana and then the final against France made more of an impact than Gerrard has in his entire England career!

De Rossi IS NOT a Pirlo type player. I don't think De Rossi is even a pure regista nor is he used as one but don't quote me. De Rossi is an all around CM type of player, he's well balanced. Pirlo is the conductor, he's a rarity. One bad game in a friendly shouldn't be used to judge his worth. I think, and I've been saying this for some time, Pirlo needs a rest! He's been playing almost non-stop since 2004. He needs to be rested this summer.

LOL at Montolivo being called over Pirlo. The kid is too green, it have been evident in every game he's played with the NT. Pirlo is our regista, and I don't buy the "he's useless when he's pressed" because he's good enough to get around CDMs when he's in form. We got taken to school in the technical aspect against Spain because Pirlo was missing, did you guys forget? Our midfield was so dire that game, no creativity whatsoever. A perfect midfield would consist of Pirlo, Gattuso, DeRossi, Aquilani with 4 in the back.
    ...................Buffon
    ............Canna.......Chiellini
    Zambro.................................Grosso
    .................Gattuso......
    ...........................Pirlo......
    .......Aquilani....................DeRossi
    ..........................Rossi(Cassano)
    .................Toni

I really like the formation you posted above. The only alteration I would make is:

    ...................Buffon
    ............Canna.......Chiellini
    Zambro.................................Grosso
    .................Gattuso......
    ...........................Pirlo......
    ..Aquilani/Cassano................DeRossi
    ..........................Rossi
    .................Toni

Rossi is the best forward we have; there is no way he should not be a starter. IMO, he is better than Gila, Toni, Di Natale, etc.

Realistically, you guys can take Cassano out of the team. I doubt he will ever get called up by Lippi again.

De Rossi and Palombo should be the starters in CM.

Not even on the Playstation would that team be strong. Poor De Rossi would be run ragged on that midfield.

I'm hoping Palombo continues his best form and gets another crack at the NT, I rather like him and would love to do a swap of Perrotta for Palombo.

De Rossi is the best player on the National team right now and Palombo would make him even better. Pirlo just drags him down.

    Yes, yes he is. Well-spotted.

I'd like you to identify these players for everyone, please.

    This seems randomly tacked on.

    Really like who?

De Rossi - He did fine @ Euro 08 - W/O him Holland won 0-3
+ Scored a Goal vs. France and did well vs. Romania and Spain.

Old Man Panucci = He did alright as CD and scored a goal (the only goal vs. Romania)

Perrotta - Did his Part vs, Romania, France and Spain

Aquilani - Only played vs Spain

So w/o Roma Players, Italy would have been out @ Group Stage.
