Malaga's stadium (La Rosaleda) was renovated in 2000-2001 because the goalline areas (fondos) on both sides of the stadium were still terraced without fixed seats. In order to come into line with UEFA requirements for 1st division level (and European) competition standards, Malaga was forced to renovate the stadium, which hosted games during the 1982 World Cup.

Stadium capacity went from 39,000 with terraces to about 27,000-30,000 all seats. Seems about right for Malaga's fan base. Great place to watch a game though, perfect pitch, not as wide as Camp Nou, but nice.
