...one game suspension, $1000 fine, according to what a little bird just told me. Good to see that the league is cracking down on reckless challenges.
In other words, it would not be a problem for a little retaliation from a Burn player. Let's pass the hat, see if we can come up with $1,000.
= WRIST SLAP! Does this surprise anyone? Not me. Good God, the thug has a history of dirty play, gives no apology ("I did nothing wrong"), has broken two legs, yet Garber and Co. gives us lip service. What is it going to take to get MLS thugs under control? A death?
Not to be a troll, but are you out of your mind? What's next Shaq is suing everyother center in the NBA becuase they foul him too much...it's a game and accidents happen.
Maybe it would help if we all called the Fox Populi telephone number this weekend and complianed. Wouldn't MLS Wrap then be pretty much obligated to mention there was fan outrage over MLS' having looked the other way regarding Kovalenko (and Hudson once again). MLS doesn't want to alienate it's own fans, so you'd think it would at least take some notice if MLS Wrap were to say it was flooded with outrage calls? -KMJvet
On a MUCH more important note, ROB is not the kind of guy who sues someone because of an incident (no matter how dispicable) on a soccer field. That's what really kicks my azz, ROB's such a class act that he wouldn't store any retribution if you paid him exponential what Dema was fined. Maybe the soccer Godz will pick up where the ROB's walk away.
Pathetic and sad MLS. I look forward to May 31st. If you want something done right I guess you have to do it yourself.
Accident? Did you even read the report? The official finding was that Kovalenko "CAUSED, if only in part, an egregious injury." This was no accident, in the committee's own words.
To: Dema Kovalenko(King Rat) From: Friends of Ronnie(FOR) You will see and feel Texas Justice on May 31st. Have a nice day.
A noble sentiment but we prefer the morality of De Sade. "We forgive Kovalenko for breaking Ronnie O'brien's leg. And we also forgive the man who will break Kovalenko's leg."
It would just be nice to have one less person who needs to be forgiven. That's all I'm saying. Excuse me while I go research De Sade.
Pathetic as usual from our pee wee league. Can't wait for the 31st, I'm buying GA tickets for this one, theres goning to be too many bad words coming out of my mouth for any parents to hear.
Gutless by MLS, which is the standard we fans know and expect and that's sad. I know I don't need MLS this Summer and will stay away if they continue to let the thuggery go on. I hope Ronnie O'Brien makes a quick recovery and comes back healthy next year. This league will always be a joke if they continue to let thugs like Kovalenko and Stoitchkov get away with their bull**** (I'll try to keep things clean here as I am visiting). I'm still upset at Stoitchkov injuring the AU player in early March. For Kovalenko to not even apologize is low. I'm still a fan of DC United but right now not a proud fan. Good luck to your team and to my fellow Whitman HS ('80) classmate Mike Jeffries. Hope your team has a decent year. Bill
I guess we shouldn't have expected more when our own friggin' pacifist coach won't even speak out against it.
He may have been trying to let the powers that be do the right thing. Now that we know that's not going to happen, we'll see what Jeffries true mettle is.
Not surprisingly, Hudson didn't agree with the punishment: "I still maintain it was a completely innocuous challenge...I think it's a terrible injustice." http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A32092-2003May8.html Ray needs to refresh his vocabulary skills: "innocuous: producing no injury; harmless"
Hey, SCREW Ray Hudson! I was saving all my focused anger for the Butcher of Ukraine but now Ray Hudson makes me sick. May 31 can't come soon enough. I think I'll buy a North Reserved ticket just to sit behind that Jackass and give him an earfull of "Texas hospitality" If you're making a sign (or noose) for Dema be sure to save extra ink for Ray Hudson. There is NO JUSTICE in MLS. Uncle Lamar & HSG. Now is the time to stand up for your new acquisition. What will you do for Ronnie O'Brien?
