And he's off like a bull with gas...to Golden Palace.com The streaker/advertiser at the UEFA Cup final was #2 on SportsCenter's top 10.
Re: And he's off like a bull with gas...to Golden Palace.com Also on SportsCenter, Stuart Scott said it happened during a "U.E.A.F.A. Cup" match. [sarcasm]The great conspiracy continues[/sarcasm]
Anyone know how much it cost to bail him out? I ask because I'm willing to, er, wager that the bail wasn't nearly as much as what they would charge for a half time 15 second spot, or for official sponsorship. You have a captive, virtually world wide audience on the field where there is no other commercial signage, and then add all the publicity you get from sports and non-sports media. You basically got yourself millions of dollars in advertising for chump change.
Golden Palace Casino. I watched the LIVE version and they showed a bit too much male frontal nudity - no time to edit out the dangling modifiers. If they want even more interest - female streakers. That would get some play. Maybe they're saving that for the Champions League final.
afronted A bit too much? The third shot was the second too many! The guy's tear-away faux referee unifiorm was hillarious, but his flawed delivery of a red card to the referee detracted from the overall effectiveness of the whole scene. The uniform must've been pretty authentic looking, since he managed to simply saunter onto the field and up to the referee with none the wiser.
Note to future streaker/advertisers: Shave your streaker's back before applying the signage. Bigfoot does not make an efficient sign board.
Does anyone suspect that Max Bretos may have been tipped off before the match that a Golden Palace streaker may strike? Unless you freeze framed the the picture, it was very difficult to read what was on his back.Yet Max seemed to know instanty what this guy was advertising! In any event, it was hilarious!!!!
I've seen quite a few boxers with the same ad on their back. I was able to figure out what it was pretty quickly.
Yeah, CNN fed the video to all its affiliate TV stations (I work at one of 'em) with the guy's "junk" hanging out all over the place. Regardless, one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. Max's call "WE DIGRESS!" was priceless.
Sounds like FOX Sports Int'l now uses the 7-second delay trick, just like ESPN Int'l has been doing for years. How the 7-second delay trick works: 1. The director is watching the video feed live in the control room, but the video feed to the sound booth where the announcers sit is delayed by 7 seconds. 2. The director will notify the announcer of an event so that the announcer has a few seconds to come up with a call. An old joke in the broadcasting business: the only ad libs that work are the ones that are scripted.
