Six weeks recovery is plenty of time. If not, he was a benchwarmer last season (pains me to say it because I used to really be a fan of his) and he didn't move up the depth chart this offseason, so I wouldn't expect him missing a whole lot of playing time anyways.

I think it is time for Magee to hang it up and go to college can anyone remember when he was not injured?

Really. This shlub has been on the shelf for what seems like 4 years now. The only time I can recall him being on the field is the night he sissy punched the Crew player. That was what, 2 seasons ago?

Same. Especially because he was playing really, really well last season before the injury.

    I totally feel for him.

I'm about to schedule a visit to the knee surgeon myself (for the second time in as many seasons.)

I'm the Magee of the Hoboken over 35s. :(

I remember when the MetroStars needed to give up a young prospect to get allocation money (used to sign Youri Djorkaeff) and were trying to decide whether to trade Mike Magee or Ricardo Clark.... Ahhhhhhh, to have that decision back.... can you imagine the current team with Rico as d-mid???

Six weeks takes him to the middle of March. That's plenty of time before the season starts to start practicing with the team and come in as at least a substitute the first few games.

And in April he re-injures his knee and is out until after the all star break then comes back, rehabs and finds out the Drs misdiagnosed his original injury and now needs surgey thus ending the season once again......

I've never understood the disgust-for-the-injured mentality.

They're weak, and needy. We should leave them outside the gates for the wolves!

In a league with such a small salary cap, every cent counts (unless you're LA :p) so spending money on a player that can't even suit up with the reserves for almost a year, one could understand some frustration towards that player. I think if he can stay healthy there's a place for him on this team. With Vide gone and Schopp retired I could see him as a substitute right-mid or center-mid.

Can you imagine if we have 2 or 3 starters at midfield that are always injured? Like salary suicide in MLS with current rules.

They consume resources needed for the healthy. I say we put him on an iceberg and let him drift out to sea.:D If his knee is healthy enough to swim back to shore, he can play. Of course, if he can swim, he's a witch (or made of wood, ro equal in weight to a duck) so we'll have to burn him.
