This is a simple and funny thought about the two teams, sorry if anyone has mentioned it before, but considering that Chivas-USA to some extent will be considered "the Mexican team" and LA Galaxy will be considered the "American team", have you noticed how.... Chivas USA will be playing in red, white, and blue, and most notable with interchangeable red & white bars on their jersey which resembles the American flag. They're team will incorporate the word "USA". LA Galaxy play in green, white, and yellow. Mexico's colors are green, white, and red. But many Mexicans use the color yellow when displaying national emblems. Their team includes the city name "Los Angeles" which defines the local city known for having a huge Mexican population albeit it being an American city. I know the colors have been set long before, especially with Guadalajara, but shouldn't it be the other way around in this case?
The irony indeed. All we need now is for the Star Bangled Banner to be played while Chivas-USA come onto the field during games, and for El Himno Nacional Mexicano to be played for LA Galaxy.
