Re: Re: TWO Americans... I heard the Lousiana coach got all pissed when he lost his best players to Nepal and couldn't bring in any other international professional caliber players for the season on such short notice. I think he was benched for jeapordizing the team's fair play standings. What we really need are the yanks in Nepal to start posting reserve match reports so we can tell when he'll get another call-up.
Here's a better photo of Wallace Jackson making that save: Caption: Jivan Sinkeman's( no 7) head attempt well saved by Kathmandu's American Goal Keeper Wallace Jackson. This team needs serious work on defending set pieces... #3 on the outside of the post, of course... and who the hell does #5 think he's marking? Caption suggests that the opponent got a free point-blank header? (I'm not quite sure about that - from this angle it looks like Jackson got the ball from a cross, not a header.) And here's Kenneth Williams in action: Caption: Keneth Williams (sic) of Kathmandu Club trying to control the ball against the Boys Sports Club's defense. Maybe it's just the weird camera angle, but looks like a very tall guy being marked by a very short defender (looks to be 9-10 inches height difference). Stereotypical mullet too.
Survey says..."bzzzzzz." The TOS-mandated response to my post is "looked like more on TV." Please try to keep up.
This is one of the funniest things I've read in a long time. Perhaps I should follow my fellow Louisianians to Nepal. This only goes to show everyone that Louisiana will be a soccer hotbed for years to come, turning out tons of players with the talent to play for top* foreign clubs. *top as in altitude
I think all college players should see the light and aspire to join them in playing at the highest possible level.
This provided a welcome respit from grading boring History papers about India and China. If only one of my students had written about the two Americans in Nepal, a sure A+!
Hey, according to their website, apparently Nepal is moving up in the FIFA rankings - in fact, I think they might have reached their highest ranking yet - 192! We, the fledging Nepalise Fan Club, should celebrate.
breaking news from the NFL (Nepal Football League) heh Sport spots: Three Nepalese soccer players desert their team in South Korea Our American boys were not involved, thankfully.
Re: breaking news from the NFL (Nepal Football League) heh that was national team stuff. I do not believe our boys qualify...yet.
Looks like the Nepal Nats could use the two Americans: http://sports.yahoo.com/sow/news?slug=reu-asian&prov=reuters&type=lgns I wonder how long it taks to become a citizen. Mabye they could marry a woman from Nepal and speed up the process. I wonder if these two are on Arena's radar screen?
Haven't you heard about our new strategy for winning in Mexico? All we need are a few players with just the right altitude. Anyway, the real problem is the off year age bias in the player selection process. Hopefully now that they are playing professionally they'll finally get a well-deserved look by the ODP-Asia scouts.
And why not??? I understand that in 60-90 days the Nepal Football League (or what ever the name is) will sign a deal with ChampionsWorld to have a tour in Europe and the US. I have heard rumors that Old Trafford, San Siro, Stade de France will all be stops in Europe. In the US they expect to sell out Giants Stadium and the Rose Bowl. Should be a perfict oppourtunity to see these Boys in Nepal Blue show their stuff for Arena.
Fire Maheshwor Mulmi now! What an idiot, he left the teams leading scorer from the pre-qualifying tournament off the squad. If Rayamajhi isn't there to bag some goals, who's gonna get it done? http://www.nepalsport.com/fnnationalteam_ac04.htm
Re: Re: breaking news from the NFL (Nepal Football League) heh That should open up some spots for them at least. CAP WALKER NOW NEPAL!!!
Re: Re: Re: breaking news from the NFL (Nepal Football League) heh First there was WC1932, where all our players were immigrants. Then came WC1990, where all our players were, well, there. Next was WC1998, with the naturalized players. Finally WC2010, we export our players (if Nepal ever gets to the WC)
