i was watching fire highlights from 2002 and in the june 2nd game against columbus a fellah named amos magee scored two.....i've never heard of this guy...who the hell is/was amos magee?
Yeah that was a bizzare game.I remember there being some confusion over his name during the season as well. I think he had some starts in the middle of the season, but thats about all I remember. I remember like two guys tried to get a chant going for him but it didnt catch on
Every Fire fan ought to know the name of Amos "Chesty" Magee. Looks like won't make the team this year, but he's one of the best stand-in players we've ever had!
i remember that like it was yesterday amos chests it into the goal... 0.5 seconds later, c.j. brown is diving into section 8... the rest of the fire soon followed, during all of this, kebzach removes a stake in the ground that could have caused some injuries... cops though he was about to do something bad with that stake, but instead he just hands the stake to them and the celebration continues
Man, wouldn't that be great if Dave decided to finally give both Woly and Amos contracts this year, after so long getting just tastes of the first division.
Yes he did. This is from a game against the Crew. Magee was called up from the Minnesota Thunder. http://www.mnthunder.com/bios/amos_magee.asp 2. Can't we just keep him in a booth at Cardinal Stadium with a sign saying "In case of injury to forwards, break glass and insert in lineup"?
If he continues to score two goals a game while injured, maybe that should read "Break Arm and Insert in Lineup"
I sure don't remember that. I do remember C.J. blindsiding me as he dove into Section 8, but I sure don't remember taking up one of those barrier stakes.
could have sworn it was you... thought we even talked about it on the car ride home, although it could have been someone else we were talking about ah well, the importance of it was the stake coming out and the look on the cops' faces
ok, yeah I guess that was me now that I think about it...although I think I just took it out of the groud so that the whole sideline barrier would just collapse and nobody would get gored on it.
