Even tho I'm happy that Miranda , Thiago Silva, Marcelo and Alex were called I was hoping for more new names there, since it's a friendly. Guys like Keirrison/Guilherme/Dentinho in the attack, Renato Augusto/Thiago Neves/Carlos Eduardo in the midfield , etc.... I want some new blood instead of Gilberto Silva, Josue, Kleber, Adriano, Luisão...

What about David Luiz? I think he is injured right now but I want to see him there someday , he seems to be a great defender. Breno too.

Overall I don't think this call was THAT bad, but Dunga should really try to use different players in the startin line up. Marcelo over Kleber for example.

OK, what/who did you expect? I thought he would have tried Amauri this time and see what he had.

Looks like Dunga believes his core team needs as much time together as possible to gel better. That's why he is probably not trying a lot of new players. Given the recent performances, this group needs every possible opportunity to play together if Dunga indeed believes they are the Selecao's base.

We don't play another WCQ until next March, if he calls a bunch of new players now, he will complain that the players haven't had enough time to get used to each other .... oh wait, he will complain about that anyways ;)

IMO ... the midfield is crap except for Kaka' (who is almost a forward when played correctly). I think this notion of DMs and AMs is our main problem. We can't have DMs who can't pass and AMs who don't defend well (or at all ... Ronaldinho). We will get killed by teams with dynamic midfielders.

Is this the reason we were held 0 x 0 by Colombia and Bolivia?
    I think you are correct!

Dunga doesn't seem to follow the brazilian championship. Miranda has been deserving a call for like two years and is called up when he's been playing terribly lately. Same thing with Kleber. And Adriano hasn't played lately because of another "noitada", so I'd call somebody else, like Amauri.

I bet if we call up the best players from the Brazilian league + Kaka, Robinho, and JC they would do better in the qualifiers then the joke team we have right now.

But then again, Dunga would probably manage to screw that up too.

I bet if we call up the best players from the Brazilian league + Kaka, Robinho, and JC they would do better in the qualifiers then the joke team we have right now.

That would be unfair with Renato Augusto, Thiago Neves, etc that made a great Brasileirão when they were here but juts moved to Germany.

Kaka + Robinho + JC+ Lucio+ Maicon+ Daniel Alves IMO , the rest made by youngsters ( I would include Juan too but he is injured).

    Gk: JC, Victor
    CBs: Miranda, David Luiz, Breno,Lúcio
    LBs: Marcelo, Juan

Rbs: Maicon, Daniel Alves ( Maybe Rafinha or Ilsinho... But I think those two are very good, Dunga just nees to learn when to use them. Maicon is more defensive and stronge r, so he should be used on away games , when the opponent will probably attack us, While Daniel Alves is faster, more aggressive and a better dribbler/supporter so he should play against 10-men-in-the-defense teams)

DMF/CMFs: Hernanes,Ramires,Anderson,Lucas ( Lucas would be so much better if he were a little stronger... He is so obedient tactically and has good passing/long range shooting , he just lack that little strenght that is soemtimes required to brush off a player off the ball. The CMFS MUST SUPPORT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.)

AMFs: Alex, Kaka, Renato Augusto,Thiago Neves ( perfect imo.... Everyone of them can dribble, pass, shoot from distance, are creative...)

SSs: Robinho, Pato , Dentinho ( Hey we gotta try new players ^^ )

    Cfs: Keirrison, Guilherme

I would be so happy to see those players in the NT... However I think that even so we would collect a few losses... Oh well at least we would be rejuvenating the team...

Juan of Roma did play last night x Chelesea. Perhaps his recovery came just too late. One of Dunga's favourites, no doubt about it.

Interesting call-ups & I like that he finally went domestic with some selections, but not a lot of real surprises there. A little bit surprised with Ronaldinho out but maybe it's an attempt to also see Kaka take more of a leadership role too? Who knows.

I also think it's a little funny that Vagner Love isn't called up anymore even though now of all times, he's been scoring (albeit Russia, but still...). One thing I've seen this season is that Brasil really do have some talented full-backs. Maicon, Dani Alves, even Mancini, and then in teh pipeline players like Rafinha or Rafael eventually. It's time to utilize the abilities of the plahyers he does have instead of a system/formation when Cafu/Roberto Carlos were there. Because the thing is, even then, I remember Roberto Carlos coming into scrutiny because of his Selecao performances.

Anyways, it should be a good, tough, interesting and hopefully highly entertaining game. The defense will be tested by some very talented and creative midfielders/forwards and wingers. A great test.
