In its second match after the 2014 FIFA World Cup, Brazil returns to the tri-state area to face Ecuador. This match should draw a very large Latin American contingent given the dozens of thousands of South American and Central American immigrants who reside in the New York City metropolitan area and in the state of New Jersey.

Brazil comes off a rugged and violent 1-0 win against World Cup quarterfinalist Colombia, a match which witnessed Neymar return from injury and secure victory with a perfectly angled free kick goal. Ecuador, as well, comes from a friendly match victory, having defeated Bolivia 4-0.

During Dunga's first stint as manager of Brazil, the two sides met 4 times, with 3 Brazilian wins and 1 draw.
    - 2006: Stockholm, 2-1 Brazil (Fred and Kaká)
    - 2007: Puerto La Cruz, Copa América 1-0 Brazil (Robinho)
    - 2007: Rio de Janeiro, World Cup Qualifying 5-0 Brazil (Vágner Love, Kaká (2 goals), Ronaldinho Gaúcho and Elano)
    - 2009: Quito, World Cup Qualifying 1-1 (Júlio Baptista)

Maicon, 2010 World Cup starting lateral-direito and a participant in the 2014 World Cup, has been cut from the squad, allegedly for indiscipline. He has been replaced by 20-year-old Fabinho.

Here's to a solid game by Brazil, hopefully with a win, as Dunga leads the national team in its rebuilding phase, with the hopes of a competitive - and winning - side for the next few years.

Not really, but take in account he's skinny as a rail and will be the most fouled player on the pitch!! Dunga will toughen him up!!:D

I doubt we'll see much of Fat Robinho (should I say Robão?) tonight.

More than any Brazil player, I am curious to see how Flamengo's and Ecuador's defender Erazo will do tonight. Hopefully he will do well and become useful for Flamengo when he is back to the club.

Both times I went to watch us play at Metlife Stadium, the field wasn't that great ... but this looks absolutely terrible.

Why didn't they play at the Red Bull stadium? It's a proper football stadium.

Only 5 minutes in and I'm wondering where was this team 2 months ago. The passing is so much better.

Some nice touches to begin the game for a change.

This field is so sh1t. Pretty slow and the ball just dies when it bounces. Always been the problem with this field and it's even worse today.

Jogada ensaiada off the free kick.

    Willian makes it 1 x 0.

Yep. My thoughts exactly. Not only that but nothing being created. The best chances from open play were a long ball to Neymar and another one off a quick FK start to Tardelli. Good movement overall, but just nothing to show for.

Miranda is pretty good. Really should have been there at the WC and I am happy he didn't get away.

He has been excellent in defense. Marquinhos, Felipe and Gustavo have done well defensively as well but Miranda has been the standout.

We pressed well and the movement has been good but we are lacking a bit in creating chances.

Did we sub Robinho for Neymar? That a Robinho like effort on an open goal.

Damn Neymar ... I guess the pass did come with a lot of pace. Best play of the game.
