I know MLS alltime leading goalscorer Chris Wondolowski is Kiowa. Anyone know of any other NDN players?

There was a long held rumor that Joe-Max Moore was a Cherokee descent, but that's no longer circulating AFAIK.

Soccer hasn't made much inroads into rural Indigenous communities and the costs of travel soccer are what they are, but things are slowly changing. Still, Basketball is the dominant Native participatory sport (Rez Ball) followed by Lacrosse & Stickball - depending on the Nation

I will hit up a Twitter contact on this, a bigger inroad has been made with ladies side and them being recruited for college soccer teams than men's players, but both of these tend to be recruited out of suburban / urban communities where there are less economic & social disparities for youth & club soccer.

I believe former USMNT player Tom Kain qualifies.

William Strachey observed around Jamestown, founded in 1607, “a kind of exercise” among the Native Americans:

"They have the exercise of Football, in which yet they only forcibly encounter with the foot to carry the Ball the one from the other, and spurn it to the goal with a kind of dexterity and swift footmanship, which is the honor of it."
