what shameful, controversial things americans/mexican players done over the years?

    THE HALL OF SHAME

    AMERICANS

Pablo Mastroeni photo shoot: If i ever see that picture again i will vomit for sure. Makes me wish Temo Blanco does punch him in the next usa vs mexico game.

    MEXICANS

Cauhtemoc Blanco: Every Yank's favorite mexican player is no stranger to controversy.

    1. Gets fined for simulating infront of the goal a street dog taking a leak (happened a few years back)
    2. Gets in trouble after he punched a tv reporter after a game (this happened a few days ago!)

Luis Hernandez: Gets a woman pregnant in the usa, then runs to the border so he doesnt have to pay child support. If he ever steps foot in the usa there are orders to arrest him. If not mistaken there is more than 1.

Mastroeni is not the only one to take those fruity pics. I believe Donovan, McBride and Cobi also took part in the photo shoot for the NY times. I would also add to your shame list Wynalda.

As for the Luis Hernandez situation. He did agree to pay for Child Support and even to take care of the kid himself, what happened is that Grace Moreira wants more money.

Yes, Mastroeni is not the only one. The rest of the team members looked like a bunch of San Francisco's finest.

Grace Moreira---everyone loves a gold digging slut, huh?

apparently she said she needed money for airfare (trips to visit her family in Brazil), clothes for the baby (dont know many babies that need 10K for clothes a year), and personal effects. The figure she was throwing around was 75K per year then later close to 140K per year. Her laways wanted to get in contact with Club America and see how much he was getting paid.

I am all for paying child support half of the kids expenses food, clothes, school, day care, etc... but i dont understand how child support becomes into girlfriend support. 100K? thats not child support... millions of families get by on 50K ..and she wants 100K+ because she had a minor surgery and was told to get off the pill by her doctor... but somehow managed not to tell Matador about it. The Cobi cheap shot

You're probably saying to yourself, "which one?"

I need some help with the offender's name, but during the 2-0 win, this guy head-butted, punched, and cleated Cobi all at the same time.

    What a dork.

Or do you all remember when the Mexican player, who cares which one, they're all dirty punks, kneed Lalas in the nuts?

This is the way Mexican players do things. They will hit you when you're not looking. Just look at Blanco this week. Real men don't hit you from behind.

I'd send her a check for 10K and say take it or leave it.....after the paternity test to really prove that it was mine. For all we know it could be Ronaldinho's :) Look at the teeth.

The Three hit combo to Cobi jones was done by Rafael Marquez which surprised me because i had never seem him act in such manner in the MFL, so he must of picked this up in the French Championat.

Da Marcus Pissley should also be added to the Shame list. Taking a piss in the sidelines while warming up during a World Cup game.

No doubt about that one--they showed it everywhere else in the world except here.

Dude, the only thing he learned in France is how to surrender to the Germans. If the French could fight half as well as Marquez, we'd never have to bail them out.

But I have to ask you, did Cobi wipe his ass with a Mexican flag or something like that at some point? I watched the videotape of the World Cup match (we won, in case you were wondering) recently, and it seemed like the moment he came on, every Mexican player forgot about the game and just went after him.

Claudio caught one of the Mexican players in the nuts in the World Cup. He didn't do it on purpose though.

    Hall of Shame

    U.S. -

Let's not forget "Captain for Life" John Harkes, kickstarting the World Cup '98 fiasco by shagging his teammate's wife.

    Mexico -

This task is too hard. How about, "Mexican players who haven't shamed themselves?" The list would be much shorter.

    back in el defectuoso
What I have heard here in interviews and reports back here in Mexico is that when the USA scored one of the goals (I don't remember which), Cobi taunted the Mexican bench. It seems that he became a marked man after that.

I don't condone the Mexican players behaviour, though.

It is too easy. In all due fairness to the Mexicans, I do remember one bit of shame given to us by our saint, Eddie Pope. Gold Cup final, remember Eddie Pope spitting on Hernandez. I always wondered what set him off like that.

    Hall of Shame

    U.S. -

Oops, I forgot Agoos faking receiving a punch to the gut vs. Costa Rica (I believe) in Kansas City, trying to get the Tico booked.

I remember thinking, damn, the U.S. has played Mexico too many times, we're starting to act like the Mexicans ourselves.

Lost a lot of respect for Goose after that play. Gamesmanship is fine, but at some point it crosses the line into cheating. That play crossed the line. Not worth winning like that.

Before you say, "all's fair in love & war," well we could also win easily by arming each of our players with nightsticks and beating the &^%$ out of opponents. So? Even if the referee let you do it, it wouldn't mean that you "won" the soccer game.

Similarly, beating a team in an 11 vs. 10 situation where you tricked a team to get a player ejected isn't a victory.

When has that ever been proven?

They're talking about Wynalda's wife. In John's book Captain For Life, he talks about how Eric and his wife were the most supportive of him during the time he was cut from the World Cup team. I've never heard Eric Wynalda refute that either.

This is a rumor that just doesn't have much substance...
