Looks like Diego Restrepo is heading down to South America, he will join fellow American GK Kevin Piedrahita at America de Cali in Colombia Restrepo Signs with America De Cali
So it's fair to say that Diego is..... going back to Cali? [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FdizL4on-Rc"]YouTube - LL Cool J - Going Back To Cali[/ame]
Both Piedrahita and Restrepo in action today vs. Junior. Two games, the reserves in the opener and the starters in the late game. Piedrahita played all 90 minutes for the reserves and had several nice saves in 1-0 loss. Restrepo played with the starters, also went the full 90 in a 1-1 draw http://www.futbolred.com/liga-postobon/noticias/pretemporada2011/america-y-junior-igualaron-1-1-en-partido-amistoso/8785468 Awesome that both these guys are getting playing time, even though is early in the preseason.
America de Cali is headed to Peru for 3 games this week to wrap up the pre-season. Wouldn't be surprised if Restrepo gets 1 or 2 games during the trip. Restrepo made the 18 last week for both games of the Cafam Cup which America won, and has made the top 18 again for the trip to Peru. It looks like for start of the Colombian League DR will be the #2 goalie behind Leandro Castellanos, and Kevin Piedrahita will be the youth/emergency GK. "University of Virginia – Calle Brown (GK) (Matt Miscione 33’) (Diego Restrepo 63’), Mike Volk, Greg Monaco, Kevin McBride, Hunter Jumper, Ari Dimas (Marcus Douglas 81’), Felipe Libreros, Brian Span, Shane Cooke (Sean Hiller 75’), Brian Ownby (Akheel Rodney 72’), Will Bates" this is the match report from the RedBull UVA friendly yesterday. I'm assuming its some kind of mistake. http://bigapplesoccer.com/teams/redbulls2.php?article_id=26896
