I guess it was only a matter of time before the American brand of football invaded soccer's cathedral. AEG should make a pretty penny, plus they can promote good will amongst the locals. Carson vs. Banning used to be one of those big-time SoCal high school rivalries. I will talk to my nephew, a current Carson student, to try to gauge the excitement level of this upcoming gridiron clash.

On a related note, I hope we won't be seeing football lines during MLS Cup game. The field caretakers would have a little more than 2 weeks to rid the field of those unwanted panty lines.

At least it's only High School so the pitch won't be torn up too much.

It was part of the deal.

Besides, it's good public relations and community involvement...

And let the kids know what a "cathedral of soccer looks like..."

At least the tide has turned...instead of a soccer club renting out a football stadium, football teams are now renting out a soccer stadium.

I hope they use chalk and not paint when drawing the football marking.
