you can't buy the cup. You must build it.

40 millions is a lot of dough though

for a club? seems low like Falcao, Cuadrado or James could easily buy most the teams in our leagues. I mean when I go to Colombia almost every uniform regardless where I go is America de Cali or Nacional. Thought Cali would be worth a heck lot more than 40m

No no, that was the investment they were going to make for players if I recall correctly. Big teams in Colombia can go further than that in the price.

Doesn’t matter because they didn’t have any money anyways. I had a feeling they were a scam when they said they wanted to do a America de Cali in the MLS.

    Like a Chivas USA?

HAHAHAHA Good luck with that. If Chivas Failed in LA, America de Cali is a stillborn.

Also, Franchise prices for MLS are in the realm of 500 million USD. And that is just the entry fee.

Yeah that is a scam all along.

When I was in Colombia saw that one of the richest guys in SA is Colombian he doesn’t want a club owns some bank.

Prices I see for Colombian clubs are just so cheap

did someone say Huila was 5m? That’s less than what Diaz was sold for and a lot of prospects

I don't think there is actual valuation numbers for football teams in colombia (Like serious analysis , not just a drunken journalist).

Outside of the big cities, football is just not that popular, we have very low attendances , close to zero infrastructure (They only private stadium is Cali's) and our training infrastructure is a joke outside of the Big teams.

It is a business that don't have too many assests, and the assets they have are risky (players). The main revenue stream is Tv rights, and it is quite low.

I think 5 Millions for a team might be quite low, and I would doubt that number, but I would not pay 100 Million for a team like Huila, with no attendances, no stadium, poor training facilities and huge risk.

I think that while great controll of the ball, it also infuriates me, the opportunities for the goal where there at the start, you didn't have to go backpassing 30 times to take advantage.

Any America supporters out there in Cali? My boyfriend's sister has America tattoos, but he seems reluctant to connect me with her. Maybe he´s afraid I´m bi or something. That´s his affair. But I ain´t going to that stadium alone. A gringo wandering around by himself? Nope.

Goal fest in Cali, America 4-3 Llaneros. Was the stadium empty due to that fire bombing event back in December?

Exciting game against corinthians in half hour. It feels like this season of libertadores/sudamericana will be better. Hope that feeling won't end tonight. Little to cheer about last months except lucho and cucho :).

Did America rest any players in their weekend loss to Once Caldas?
