Has anyone noticed the quite obvious absence of the Ultras?

Maybe they flunked math, and the two of them had to go to summer school

No doubt they're protesting something...what could it be this time? Perceived mistreatment by the yellowjackets? Lack of respect shown them by our own goalkeeper? The fact that The Official Spartacus Thread has more posts than The Official Ultras Thread?

Looks as if LARS will have their hands full with the yellow coats, as there won't be any need for security baby sitting the Ultras.

Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated into the collective.

Though I am not one of their ranks, I know what happened .... it's purely innocent. they're not protesting anything nor have they been assimilated into the Casbah. they have just faded into the sunset if I hear things correctly.

I kinda miss the buggers, it's too bad they went away. It would have been nice to see their numbers grow but I think their mentality of them being bigger than the game itself ultimately done 'em in. If any Ultras are reading this good luck, hopefully you'll be back next year a little more organized.

Dang it all anyway! You were supposed to keep this a secret!

Truth be told, the Ultras have been too busy to do their thing, as they have been tied up in meetings for weeks now. They are the new investor group SSV has been courting, and a press conference announcing their purchase is scheduled for this Thursday, August 18th at 3:00 pm at the Silicon Valley Captial Club atop the Fairmont Hotel.

A new stadium has been promised by the investors, but its location is not yet known. What has been confirmed however, is that no seats will be sold without the additional purchase of an Ultras Personal Seat License. Unless you are planning to purchase a luxury box, every seat in the stadium will be designated as All Ultras Only Seating.

Gung hay fat choy! A new day is on the horizon! I just don't quite know how to feel about it yet. I need some processing time here, boys and girls. (Maybe a good cry will make it feel better.)

I am not sure of this, but someone told me that dim sum appetizers will be served at the press conference.

I wish they were still around. I think they added atmosphere to the games. I even offered to lend them a hand in getting tickets for them ....

Heck, if they can get the team a new South Bay stadium and keep the "San Jose Earthquakes" identity intact, then I'll scream "Gung hay phat choy!" (as opposed to simply "Gung hay fat choy!") for all the world to hear! :D

    GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!!

Yeah, they did combine well with the Casbah to provide a nice "stereo effect", with the Casbah chanting to my left and the Ultras chanting to my right. :)

    GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!!

The "band" broke up so to speak--a few of the lads have gone their seperate ways--school, etc. Just a shame because I'm a believer that if you want to form your own group with your own peers and like minded people, you should do so. I do hope they can return in some form, or least reunite for the big games.

    "Miss them?"...............No.

I have noticed for several months that they haven't been around.

No one abusing Onstad. No one screwing around during the national anythem (sp?).

    I loved their proto-fascist imagery.
