Anyone know of an Indoor Soccer league in Chicago? I've been playing Indoor Soccer with The Chicago Sports and Social Club but my team did not register in time. So, I'm wondering if there are any other leagues out there that one can just join? Thanks for any help given.
Also Soccer City in Palatine, Poplar Creek in Hoffman Estates and some place in Montgomery. This is probably still not a full list.
If you really wanted to make a trek, there is the American Sports Center (aka Spikes) in Crystal Lake, IL. It has Coed Open, Men's Open, Men's 30+ and Men's 40+ leagues. The Coed Open plays on Sat. nights. The Men's Open and Men's 30+ play on Friday nights. And the Men's 40+ plays on Monday nights. If you are younger, they have High school boys and high school girls leagues as well. Check out the website at www.coachingkids.com and click on American Sports Center/Spikes.
I was actually looking for somewhere in the city limits of Chicago as I do not have a car and rely soley on Public transportation. So thanks to all of you except for Stogey.
There's Bucktown Football, but at Cermak and Throop, it's not exactly the most easily accessible via public transportation. New session starts this week, and Tim usually takes independent players, although it may be late in the game for that for this session. There's also Sports Monster and Players, that may be able to take you on as an individual. Later, COZ
A new session is starting with the Bucktown FA tonight (tues) for both mens and coed leagues at http://www.chitownfutbol.com/. There is room in the men's league for a team (as of this morning). the BFA also has futsal leagues wed (coed), and thursdays (men). You should be able to get on a team. My team (look for the red unis) plays at 8:40 tonight if you want to come out and talk to the guy who runs the league (bring your gear just in case, ya never know). The BFA site has been down for months. Paul D
Windy City Fieldhouse Windy City Fieldhouse I believe has a league also, not sure of there exact location, but I know they are in the city limits, not too far from Chinatown area.
I got in one called SportsMonster Chicago SOCCER. They play at the Windy City Field House. Thanks for the help guys.
In fact I do play at Spikes, also in the over 30 league. In fact, my team just won the trophy last Friday night. We are the "Originals"--I know, stupid name, and I'm not sure where it comes from. Are you playing in the next session? And do you happen to know if the schedule has been set yet? I haven't heard anything--and we play tomorrow!
I play for Fox Valley United. We are supposed to play, but for some reason they do not have us listed on the schedule (which is posted on the website, BTW). Hopefully they can get us in. A league with only four teams in it is no fun!
No web yet I just checked with ASC/Spikes and they said they dont have the web link updated yet. When I got the schedule Friday, looked like at least 6 teams. Look for the Hammers to take this session!
Look for the Hammers to take this session??? What inside information do you have for this? I would think that Heydari would be the team to beat (you guys played them this past Friday)--since this is largely the team that formed the Lakers last session--the only team to beat us last session (although not in the final, where it counted!) By the way, the website has been updated--and you'll see our commanding 8-1 victory!
Link to the web? Can you post the link to the web, I have been searching all over and can't find it on Yahooooooo!
Look who you played - the team that didn't win one game last session! No wonder you won 8-1! We play The Hammers tomorrow night - Look out! BTW, here's the site: http://www.coachingkids.com/men's_over_30.htm
Oh whoops--sorry krhoffman--I mixed you and dustbin up. You play for Hammers (which is why you said they'd take the league) and dustbin plays for Fox Valley. Man this has been a long day. I wish the games were tonight...
Just for Kicks - Naperville The Winter season just started at Just for Kicks in Naperville. There are several leagues and I'm sure a few players are needed . . . heck, we need a couple players! It's not a traditional "indooor" facility. First of all, there are NO walls. You play on a field with side lines and end lines. Additionally the field is a bit larger than the traditional "rink" style indoor facility and the goals are bigger too (almost regulation size). Secondly, the turf is exactly the kind of surface the Fire play on at NCC. It's the new stuff with crushed rubber pieces and better bounce than the old cement-like turf. The web-site is www.justforkicks.org
Yeah, that's the same for us at Spikes in Crystal Lake. We have no walls and the field is the same stuff as Naperville (which I have had some minor ankle and knee problems on, by the way). I don't think the field is much larger than a typical indoor field, and the goals are smaller than reg also.
