That would be a true statement of his brother, Kelechi. But Amaechi played defender in all the games I remember watching him. And he only played one fall season.
he definitely played left winger at santa clara. he was converted to left back on the u17 team but coach of santa clara wanted him to play forward. (we could take a poll and see which position wins the most votes.) I don't believe he was given a fair chance to develop while on the revolution. played behind Heaps at left back and was very young. Hope he develops at Ingolstadt. The US could use a decent left back
No coach gives a shit if he' American, Nigerian or Marsian. And the administrations do either. He's good enough to play, or he isn't.
The only time it would help is in countries where there are non-EU player restrictions. Nigeria is a part of the Cotonou agreement, so I believe their players don't count against the limit.
His is also eligible for an Italian passport. Italy are part of the EU so it would help him way more than a Nigerian one.

Harsh, don't you think? He was injured for most, if not all, of his tenure at FCI. Hope he can latch one somewhere in Germany but the knee could present a problem.
He is not released yet - although he has been told, that he isn't in the club's plans, and he doesn't train with the team anymore. He'll be looking for a new club now, but if he can't find one Ingolstadt will either have to buy him out, or he'll stay there (or he agrees to terminate the contract without compensation).
His sister Chioma, currently playing with the Bay Area Breeze, will play with SC Freiburg for the next 2 seasons.
Apparently Igwe wasn't registered in time for Babelsburg's 3. Bundesliga opener today, a 1-1 draw with Jahn Regensburg. A translation from a German speaker would be welcome though.
