If only there was some way to pull off a win during the 90 minutes. Some sort of strategy, some sort of tactical game plan....Some sort of in game adjustments that someone could instruct the players on how to carry it out. Too bad there isn't.
I will give you this: why the hell change the formation all of a sudden when the 5-3-2 had been working so well?
In the final 2 minutes! It was WC 2014 vs the Netherlands again. Pinche Rivas... "I´m gonna start a fight and get red carded and take Ferrari players with me plan worked!
@SixKick Lavolpe needs to go. The positives this year, We won SCCL We are still winning 1 title per year. So we need to win #13 in 2017. La Copita MX ain´t gonna cut it.
Pelaez already said that Lavolpe was going to stay regardless of the result. He said that a few weeks ago, so he could change his mind.... but I doubt it
Needs to go as in immediately? That's crazy. I mean I don't like him as a person and I question some of his decisions, but no way can you fire him at this point. America and Tigres are the two best teams in the league. Losing to the other top team in penalties is not a fireable offense, especially when we were in control for most of the two legs but finishing let us down. To date, the only actual loss under him was to Real Madrid. That's it. Let's wait until he actually loses to a Mexican team before getting drastic. I mean I'm fine just giving him a short leash, but he has earned going into the Clausura at least.
If yall want to continue fighting for titles then lavolpe needs to go. Every top team he plays he has the team playing very defensive when the team has the fire power to go for the jugular. America could have easily taken the game to Tigres, that defense was shaky all season
Playing defensive doesn't necessarily mean losing. I don't like it, but there are better managers than La Volpe who do the same thing. If he releases them to go for the kill, that leaves Gignac freedom to steal a goal against the run of play like in the first leg. If the whistle was blown a few seconds earlier, the entire narrative changes. I just can't call for somebody's head when they haven't lost a single game in league or playoffs.
They have not lost but they have not beaten anyone with the exception of one game against chivas. In my opinion that is not good for a team like America.
How are you defining "anyone?" Under La Volpe, America beat liguilla teams Chivas, Necaxa, Pumas, and Tijuana. They also beat Jeonbuk in CWC.
Jeonbuk is an expected W. I will concede that I did oversee pumas. But the other games are not high pressure games.
Jeonbuk is only an expected W because of North American arrogance. Liga MX is better, but it's not like the AFC Champ is MLS quality. I think Jeonbuk would make Liguilla. Why is Pumas a high-pressure game, but Necaxa is not even though the latter was a semifinal? But the overall point though is that it's not like this was some cupcake schedule. Under La Volpe we played games 10 games against every team in the top 7 of the standings. In those we won 4, tied 6, and didn't lose. Considering that is up against the best the league has to offer, that's pretty good.
I don´t know where this losing to the Asian Champs is called "hacer el ridiculo" Especially when its Gatitos fans that say it lul Lo dicen de ardido
The reason this America looked so defensive is not because of Lavolpe. Piojo's America was the same they rely on carrileros. When Paul Aguilar went down to injury the struggle began as Gil Buron is not quality in the attacking area.. Piojo and Lavolpe like to win the possesion game, but they live off the contragolpe. With Paul out until what looks like April, I'm worried on why not sign a RW.
