I read the comments on the tweet - so much praise from Crew fans for Zardes. Apparently most loved him both as a player and as an outstanding human being. No surprise to us, right? It’s been inspiring to watch him develop and build a great career. There were some struggles along the way but he never flinched. What a class act.
I believe that have a younger (and cheaper) forward who is the future of the franchise, so I think this was a chance for the Crew to get some money for a player that don't need and a chance for Zardes to get a lot of playing time ahead of his one chance to go to a World Cup....
