Maybe. There's a possibility at PSV that Beasley played with Salcido. But I'm not sure because while DMB was on the books he was loaned out to Man City so I don't left when Salcido arrived.
Altidore probably will NOT start but should be available off the bench. Earlier in the week his chances for starting looked pretty good but Guille Franco recovered from his injury quickly enough to become 1st choice. Here's Marca.com's pre-game report (in Spanish) including a diagram with their predicted lineups / formations for both teams: http://www.marca.com/marcador/futbol/2008_09/primera/jornada_2/vil_dep/
Someday, we'll have a really exciting Yanks Abroad season to indulge in -- players starting in big televised games, untimely injuries not getting in the way, other weird circumstances not lousing things up. So far, this is not that season.
http://www.channelsurfing.net/ Scroll down a bit. The game is listed. This is usually pretty damn reliable. Fingers crossed this stream works. We'll find out in 3 minutes.
Is it lame that I could easily walk into the other room and watch this match on GolTV on a nice big set, but instead will sit here and watch some jittery stream so I can continue getting a BigSoccer fix?
If you have TVU, there's a decent GolTV stream. http://myp2p.eu/broadcast.php?matchid=18345&part=sports In other news, why is Pascal 'Zidane' Cygan starting at defensive midfield? Has he been doing this recently?
When no time zone is listed, that means it's eastern time (US). Folks in the eastern time zone haven't yet come to grips with the fact that the whole world isn't on eastern time.
Cmmmmoooonnnnn you yellow submarines! For some reason that nickname just doesn't quite inspire the required aggression you'd think warranted for a top European soccer team.
Will sombody please open a new thread for the Charlie Davies game going on right now? Its Hammarby vs. Kalmar FF. I am a noob and thus cannot be trusted with such wieghty responsibilities. (the game is on TVU). Sorry if this is out of place, but desperate times call for desparate measures.
So what odds on Deportivo to be up 2-0 when the pass out the orange slices and our boy to come on 20 minutes from time and score in the 77th, 85th and 92nd minutes?
Oh well...no Ray, and Jozy on the bench. Can't believ GFranco got a card for diving -- he wasn't even trying to get a call.
You can see the lineups here http://www.marca.com/marcador/futbol/2008_09/primera/jornada_2/vil_dep/ With both Llorente and GFranco in, Jozy is their only forward sub.
Altidore is the only other available striker due to Nihat's and Rossi's injuries...so one can only hope he gets some PT today.... A red card for a striker would make it very unlikely for Altidore to come into the game...so let's hope Franco does not get it....
