Not too surprising (to me anyway) after he was rested in the second half of the Arsenal game after it got out of hand.

    Edit: d'oh!

Woo hoo.... my last class of the day is about to start and ends just 10 mins before kickoff, and with it being at least a 15-30 minute drive home, traffic depending... I know some lucky students who are going to get out of class early tonight!

WTF?! Haven't heard he's injured. Did he do something to piss off Poyet?

edit: I mean besides not scoring...

Made him look like an idiot for giving Jozy so many chances?

That was my fault, sorry. I saw the line-up I posted on livescore.com and jumped the gun. I will say I think that it's surprising (to me) that Altidore is not even on the bench (unless he's sick/injured).

Plenty of us said this was either likely or a very real possibility. I think his play actually hasn't been as bad as some others have. He is learning some important things and getting *some* good experience, but that's just the very thin silver lining to what has been a bad move that could easily hurt him this summer.

On the bright side, it saves me having to watch Sunderland get mauled by Man City.

Awesome. Now I can root against this disaster of a team.

Did Borini just scored? I'm following the match on whoscored.com...

Well, that's about it for Jozy...Borini plays his first match as the lone striker and he scores!

Or, you can come to the conclusion that Altidore isn't that good. He's is just not the kind of player who can create much on his own. He's decent enough if the team he is on plays it on the ground and creates a lot of chances. But as a lone striker for a team that isn't going to dominate the ball, he's below average.

Thus, in Holland for AZ or for the US against a lot of CONCACAF teams, he does well. But for Sunderland or Hull, he struggles. He has his moments. He's not awful. Be he's n ever going to be Didier Drogba.

I'm surprised he didn't start Jozy, after all - he does have half his entire premier league goal tally vs. Manchester City... :x3:

Which is my point about why it was a bad move. Moving to the EPL wasn't necessarily the biggest part of the problem. Sunderland was the problem. But I'd freaking love to see them beat Man City and then watch them try to play in the Europa League this year. Swansea gave them a good run.
