Jozy's hold up play and one touch passing has improved dramatically since I last saw him play. Truly. Has improved 100% as far as I can tell. He's having a blinder out there in the first half (including the goal of course).
This and Chelsea are the first two Hull games I've watched since very early in the season, and I have to say it's amazing the difference I've seen. Actually trying to win (i.e. the move to two strikers) has improved their play by leaps and bounds.
Hull's midfield seems to have suddenly remembered that they are Hull's midfield and now can't string two passes together. It's like Wile E Coyote when he runs off the cliff - once they realized it, they went straight down.
Manchester City should also be disgusted that a team with a 19 year old holding midfielder is controlling quite so much possession.
Jozy has been simply BOSS that first half, besides the fab goal, his hustle to win the ball has impressed me. GET CRUNK
Seems like 80 percent of the time they cut to a close-up of a player he's in the process of saying "f*** off".
Jozy's been outstanding, but I think the difference has been VofH having a strong game, being active, coming back for the ball, sharing the hold up play and distributing smartly. Jozy needs that kind of support and team play to really shine. Excellent excellent finish.
Jozy is playing his ass of today. Just WOW. Even before the goal he was having one of his best 3 or 4 performances for Hull. The use of his body, dribbling, movement, defensive pressure, 50/50s', headers, etc. And you want to know why he hasn't scored before now? Just look at the first half hour of this match. Any time he gets in the final third and begins a dangerous sequence, he draws a foul. Hell, he drew a yellow card on each of the two center backs within the first 20 minutes. EPL defenders know his quality and do everything they can to stop him. That was something I meant to add to the Altidore thread the other day: he has also drawn penalties. What, 2 or 3 of them? So not only does he has 5 assists, but he has also created more goals for his team. I don't know if this is the culmination of his confidence, acclimation to the league, or just simply that the midfield is playing better today, but this has been awesome to watch.
Are Boyata and Toure both going to start the second half? Boyata crumbled every time Jozy went right through him.
Been a good game so far, hope it continues. Especially cause I can't watch EJ or Adu anymore. Stupid monsoon.
"They were big and red and juicy" Woah, woah, woah, the chocolate strawberries commercial is dangerous territory for a family hour. FSC doesn't usually indulge in food porn.
