Random question, do you take into account the Arab Cup where not everyone has their A team and non official fifa windows matches in your ranking?
I will count it for the AFC teams, not the CAF ones. I did a similar thing for a few Gold Cups, when US and Mexico didn't send anything close to full squads. There were times they played 2 tournaments in 1 summer (Copa and Gold cup) and sent their top team to the Copa.
Colombia will shock people who don't know much about them / people who are way too superficial in their assessment.
Colombia are a top 10 NT The venue, pitch quality, lots of support on the stands probably, being familiair with the local (weather) conditions are all things that should work into their favour. Because of all that their ceiling is as high as semi-finals. For some people this may sound like a hot take but it shouldn't be. Colombia are not flawless. They lack some creativity and rely very much still on James Rodriguez in that aspect. But other than that I think they're set for a deep run.
This should be Colombia's biggest advantage. While European and other squads will be crying and complaining about weather and pitch conditions and travel and weird stadiums and environments... ...Colombia will be like uh, whatever. We just want to play in front of our 70K crazy fans and kick some ass. It will be a party atmosphere and happy go lucky. That is of course until things get nervy or things go wrong. I am not going to sit here and say everything is going to be perfect for Colombia. The team has flaws just like any other team. Let's see how it all plays out. I can't wait.
Colombia is a bit like Argentina (maybe more extreme) in the sense that many of their players play significantly better for the national team compared to what they do for their clubs. Rios and James in particular.
Wish Colombia Portugal in Miami was not the the third game. Would of been more fun. Would love to see what would of happened in a completely yellow-ed out stadium when it's still mostly pride on the line.
