If we're lucky maybe Wright might be able to replicate his Championship form in a top 4 league but doubt it'll be the Premier League.
Balogun and Pepi each have 3 goals in the Champions League and Pepi has as many goals in all competitions as Wright in half the minutes.
Yes, Pepi is injured (and doesn't play in the EPL)...and Haji Wright is in Coventry (and also doesn't play in the EPL).
Best chance to be a striker in the EPL so best chance, currently. This is a Wright thread. We big him up here. Why bring those other guys up?
F*rest are desperate. They're looking for a striker allegedly and have an owner that throws money around.
Coventry is at the top of the table in the Champioship. Forest is fourth from the bottom and trying to stay up. Coventry will need Haji for next year I doubt they sell. They have no incentive to sell.
The fact that we are debating whose better - Balo, Wright, and Pepi - is a nice problem to have. Throw in Agyemang, Sargent, and Downs and that's decent crop of strikers. In perfect world, I'd love to see (L to R) Wight - Pepi - Balo with Pulisic just underneath them. Doubt we'd see that though. Anyways back to Haji..... he's streaky and it wouldn't surprise me to see him go the next 2-3 matches with a couple of more goals. Ride the wave and Coventry can further separate themselves from the rest. Promotion is there for the taking.
Ahhhh Mr. Moderator sir.... This is the Yanks abroad section I have been told we are not supposed to discuss National Team in this forum.
Forest have played their hail mary in Lorenzo Luca, a 6'7" striker on loan from Napoli. 23 appearances for Napoli, 2 goals. As a Notts County fan I couldn't be happier. Anyway, that probably means they won't be in the bidding for Haji.
As a Notts County fan, you could and more than likely will be happier. Dyche is certainly a decent coach but he's equally certainly a lesser coach than Nuno, who's showing real signs of turning West Ham around. Forest are odds-on to go down and County are 2 points off automatic promotion. Be honest, wouldn't you take Forest being relegated over County being promoted any day of the week?
Given that it's been 30 years since we were in the 2nd division (Championship) promotion is the priority. League Two is horrible. The standard of football is poor, the reffing worse and the atmosphere at home games subdued due to the lack of away fans. And Forest being in a perennial relegation struggle would probably be preferable to them competing for promotion in the Championship.
And Esse does it, scoring relatively late in the first half to put Coventry ahead 0-1 at the break. Note that as Wright came off at HT he seemed a little miffed that Aaronson today and Sargent all week had sucked the air out of his thread.
Finished 2-1 Norwich, Wright subbing off for Simms at 71', shortly after Norwich had pushed in front. Coventry (58) have an eight-point lead on 3rd/4th Ipswich Town/Hull City (50), but both of those teams have a match in hand. Middlesbrough (55) is in the middle of the chase in 2nd, just three points back of Coventry.
Offered really the only threat today had a couple of nice chances. They need a another CM in before the window closes.
