1854233549949346000 is not a valid tweet id Wright gets the start, Aidan Dausch on the bench against Derby County.
Haji played the whole match in a 2-1 loss to Derby, with three shots and a chance created. Dausch DNP. Dominated possession but lose on an own goal.
Shock development at Coventry with Mark Robbins getting the boot. It's extremely odd given that the Sky Blues are just 7 points off the playoff places and have had a recent upturn in form: 6 games ago, Millwall were 5th from bottom, but 2 draws and 4 wins on the trot has lifted them to . . . 5th place and the announcement pays glowing tribute to his record there. “Mark masterminded and built several team over that time that outperformed their budget, outperformed their infrastructure and brought back a playing style, credibility and belief to our city that had been lost and eroded over many years. These achievements will never be forgotten by those who witnessed such deeds and the broader community that once again began to rekindle their affection for our club." I know that death, taxes and coaches getting the sack are the only certainties in life, but sacking a coach with that record at this stage in the season is what Sir Humphrey would describe as "a rather brave move, minister" The club are focusing on Wycombe's Matt Bloomfield, who's built a stellar reputation as one of the Football League's most exciting young coaches.
Wright SCORES! Defensive intervention accidentally turns into a brilliant pass between defenders for Haji to shoot from about 15 yards and beating the keeper with ta first time shot to the near post. They still trail 2-1 at Sunderland, though.
From CoventryLive: "Wright limps off injured after receiving treatment for what looks like a nasty ankle injury. He's replaced by Mason-Clark. Wright hobbled off the pitch at the far side and a stretcher has been needed to get him round to the tunnel area. Must be bad." A happier moment, scoring Coventry's first goal ...
By this time last year, he had 4 league goals. He's currently on 7. Hopefully the injury doesn't keep him out long.
He rolled his ankle on the 86th minute and had to be subbed off. The commentators groaned out loud watching the replay and they were speculating he's likely hurt or damaged the ligaments on the outside of his right ankle. It's a damn shame, because he was playing well and getting a lot of joy against a team that is justifiably top of the table. His goal is only the second goal the Black Cats have conceded at home all season. Game video is below, and the accident happens at 1.32.
From a club perspective, the timing is at least ideal during an international window. Surprised at no updates yet
Someone will be announced next week. That said, the lack of any kind of update is surprirsing. IMO it suggests that whoever they have in mind is having second thoughts or his current employer is playing hardball about compensation
I was just talking about Haji's injury but I had completely forgot when he comes back it will be with a new manager at the helm. So he'll have to get fit and integrate into a different management style
He hasn't learned to be a boring, defensive coach. That bodes well for Wright but probably not the team.
