Haji Wright scored a 2nd goal today in the 83rd minute. Coventry City trail 3-2 entering the final minutes.

Haji hits the target again, scoring Coventry's second in the 83rd minute.

That doubles his tally for the season to 4 goals (and 1 assist) in 15 games (though only 7 of them are starts).

Let's hope it's the start of him wearing his scoring boots again.

    Edit:
    Finished 3-2 to Preston.

According to the Coventry Twitter feed, he had a shot in the 6-yard box blocked in extra time.

Let's see if this the start of something new.

I said it would take 15 games or so for Wright to figure out and adjust to the Championship. Not because I doubted his quality; it’s such a hodgepodge league. You get a little bit of everything. Some teams play 100 mph and very direct. Some teams can move the ball and keep possession. Some teams are straight up physical without any redeeming quality on the ball. Some teams…. you really don’t what you’ll get week to week. It’s a damn grind in the Championship. It’s brutal and unforgiving. Wright has slowly but surely ramping it up. Confidence and comfort is growing and I hope that leads to more goals and contributions.

Haji starts against Plymouth Argyle, with whom they are even on points.

Haji with the go-ahead goal! Controversy as the guy with the assist probably dribbled over the end line first, but I don't care. Goal Haji in the 75th, 1-0 in the 82nd now

Wright will go on to have super hot streak and get 10 plus goals again. Doing it every level and every year. Who's more consistent ?

He already has 5 in 988 minutes. In Turkey he averaged a goal every 147 minutes, now he is doing one every 198 minutes.

Do they not have VAR in the C'ship? I guess not becuase the ball seemed pretty clearly over the endline before the cross to Haji.

Disagree the ball looked “clearly” out.

You don’t call the ball out unless you’re sure the entirety of the ball has crossed the entirety of the line.

hard to tell how the rest of the season will go for Wright.....but the acclimation period needs to be taken into account for assessing how he has done so far......

new team, new system new country etc.....

will be shocked if the pace he had for the first part of the season continues equivalently
