Has there been any precedent for any team using an allocation for the purposes of aquiring a player under contract with another mls team. like what might be considered as a transfer fee for a player w/i MLS not aquired using a trade. i don't see why this can't be used as such after having looked at the 2005 rules. Anyone esle know about this.
All players are under contract with MLS, not the individual teams. Teams frequently trade players for allocations or vice-versa.
