That was a world class finish. Did a great job to create space, then blasted it past a couple of world class defenders. There was probably a bit of ball watching on PSG's part, but that was a crazy finish by Ale.
Ale had to be Nantes best attacking player today. He created some excellent opportunities with through balls, winning headers (one just wide of goal that he should have done more with), tough defense and pressuring. Unfortunately Nantes did not have an answer for Zlatan. I don't understand why he has not received more playing time in the last month based on this performance. If Nantes let him move in the winter break it would seem a performance such as today's will allow him to make a level move elsewhere in Europe. I would love to see him in Spain as that league seems to match his style best.
he's certainly done himself no disservice with his development. he's turned into a real workhorse who's no liability on defense. he's not a world beater, but a good honest pro with a bit of skill. i'm happy for him and if nantes doesn't want him, their loss. i do think france suits him though, he's a tough, physical worker. i'm not sure if he has the technical or tactical chops to really excel in spain. still, if given the choice between france and spain, i'd probably go with spain. i think his colombian roots give him an edge in spanish citizenship too if i'm not mistaken.
Good for Bedoya, if you want to talk about an American giving it his all 24/7, the conversation better include Bedoya.
I have to agree. Zlatan must have thought so, too. After the match the cameras caught Ale and Zlatan exchanging shirts. I'm sure Ale initiated the exchange but very cool, nonetheless. Zlatan's hand motion(s) and big grin kinda, sorta gave impression he was giving props to Ale for his goal.
Zlatan has a lot of love for Bedoya for whatever reason. I remember last year Bedoya missed the PSG game through injury and Zlatan went to visit with Bedoya before the game in the training room and lamented that he couldnt play.
I bet Ale hooked Zlatan up with a Colombian chick, while on vacation in Miami, and he's forever indebted. That's what I would like to think. I can see the conversation now: Ale - "I've got this buddy of mine -- speaks five languages, black belt, pro soccer player, filthy rich, and has a huge................... Chick: "OMG. OMG . OMG Hook me up Ale!!" Ale - "No. No. No. I don't know about that but he has a HUGE nose.
Let's not forget Alejandro is fluent in Swedish. Can't be loads in Paris who can say the same so I'm sure Zlatan looks forward to when they meet.
Having spent 2+ years in Sweden, it's likely Bedoya speaks enough Swedish to converse with Zlatan in that tongue. Something that the big man must appreciate.
I would think they both speak English, Spanish, French and some Swedish (on bedoyas part, obviously Zlatan speaks swedish)
