    Midwest, the real one.
They're already having fun with that name....and he managed to avoid the "much Adu about" temptation.

    Good stuff...

Too bad a copy editor couldn't be bothered to smooth over the numerous grammatical errors in the piece..

    Sorry, pet peeve of mine....

Right, can we get a voluntary ban on Adu material in MLS fora until he's actually, you know, drafted or allocated or whatever to an MLS team?

Little guy's probably gonna pull a Len Bias on us, and will never play for MLS anyway.

    Sponsorship

Sounds like the US national side should really work to get Adu some sponsorship. If his mom is really putting in 70 hrs. while looking after a ten year-old and they have a long-term interest in keeping his head on straight mom should be there. Perhaps the support network in FL. is pretty good but from everything I've read so far mom has been the one to hold things together even as all the pressure has been building.

I have a lot of respect for Freddy's mom. If I was working 70hrs a week and someone offered my son $750,000, I would find it awfully hard to turn down.
I don't have any kids so maybe that is why, I don't understand what it's like to be a parent.

She's got a lot of determination to work that much and not let having a superstar athlete for a son make her too prideful to work at Home Depot.
