It'd be broiled before being placed on my head, sillypants.

Sure it would. I'd love to see how you're gonna get something to stay round enough under the broiler to fit atop your gigantic melon...

And you call me silly. Sheesh.

broil it on the back of a bowl after interlacing the strips of bacon in a lattice, like you would do for the top pie crust.

This is going to be great when it's split into it's own "How to make a meathat" thread.

    EDIT: to help it along...

Meat hats were all the rage during Ben's time as well

It's true. Ben had a great number of quotes concerning meat hats:

"Having been poor is no shame, but not having a meat hat, is."
"He is ill clothed that is not wearing a meat hat."
"An investment in meat hats always pays the best interest."
"If you would know the value of a meat hat, go try to borrow one; for he that goes a-borrowing goes a-sorrowing."
"If you would not be forgotten as soon as you are dead and your meat hat is rotten, either write something worth reading or do things worth the writing."
"If your head is not covered in meat, don't walk in the sun."
"Those who would give up a meat hat to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither meat hat nor safety."

Somehow, I thought this was appropriate.
