What sort of ideas have you already implemented? How much do you need to raise? Do you have Roman Abrhamovich's number?

    reply

we have raised 1.3 million and we need 2.5 million dollars. We have implemented are own valley soccer foundation which has been working very hard to keep us around. We also have had two youth tournaments and a jamboree and have cut many costs throughout the program. We need more ideas to keep us alive because we are running out of time before the deadline of january 15th. we may also hold a telethon.

please help and i wish i had Abrahamovich's number

    Re: reply

Seriously, have you considered joining the PDL (the US fourth division?). BYU entered this year, and although they didn't win a lot of games, I think the season was deemed a success. It might be a good alternative if it looks like the program is going to get cut or if you're going to have to raise 2.5 million dollars every year.

Also why don't you demand they cancel american football program instead. With all their stupid equipment and 50,000 + retarded coaching staff.

Two phrases (probably spelt wrong) - ALUMNI MONEY and TV MONEY

Despite the costs of a pointy ball program (higher maintaince for the field and equipment, insurance costs, etc) people have been known to travel hundreds of miles to support their alumni. Until soccer becomes the major sport here in the US, don't except any college to give it up.

I don't know the details but if it's a good sized school and appears on the set, the university gets a cut of the ad revenue. Not to mention the prestige of having a nationally known team. Here in Pittsburgh for example a local bank bought the naming rights to the new baseball stadium for that reason only. The team stinks, and mightly so. But the bank thought it was "good business" to be associted with a losing ball club just for the name recognition whenever the Pirates play at home.

Oh course PNC is more that just a local bank and I don't what to get into all that, but you see my point.

Unless your talking about sueing the university to keep soccer and get rid of pointy ball?

For a college soccer to become a mayor sport and bring people in, a different smarter approach need to be adopt, college soccer promotional efforts are close to none, very naive and amatheurish. In order to increase revenue at the gate more work need to be done in this department, it is totally perplexing that soccer organizations within a college enviroment have not been able to tap into a potential army of volunteer to look for ideas on promoting a soccer team.
