Well ... one. Jorgen Nielsen. Is it fair to include players who joined and never got a chance? I'm not sure, but then I did chuck Koztma in, I suppose. Here's an interesting one: Erik Meijer. Let's face it, he was crap. But ... legend. Utter, utter legend. Strange how life works, huh?
Two - Michael Stensgaard - the man who broke his arm ironing, wasn't he? Erik Meijer - my mates saw him drinking with the fans like an ordinary fan in Dortmund in 2001. He scored the winner for Allemannia Aachen against Lille last month.
A similar argument can be made to support the view that Djibril Cisse has been the worst striker signing for you in a many years. He comes from the Franch first division with success behind him and a big reputation. But is he a big player? Success in France means jack sh1t in terms of EPL which is faster, tougher, and of an overall higher quality. Cisse has struggled to adapt to the pace and skill level of the EPL and in this way his power and pace (qualities for which he is supposedly renouned) were insufficient for life inside the Premier League. He is injured now so I guess it is moot before anyone raises that. In addition, Harry Fool was never much good at Leeds. He was always an overrated garbage. If I was Liverpool coach I would sell him immediately.
Rigobert Song, Dominic Matteo, Salif Diaok, and David Thompson. All these player were good player at Liverpool. And in no way can Davis James be one of the worst player at Liverpool. This a goal keeper of the highest, HIGHEST calibre. You are officially nuts. Ha.
Well, it "can" be made. But anyone doing so is talking rubbish. Cisse has had 10 games in the league. That is not the basis upon which to judge anyone. If you had judged Thierry Henry within 10 games of starting his Arsenal career, he would have been dismissed as a poor signing too. Diouf, by contrast, had two full seasons at the club and was cack throughout, the odd cameo notwithstanding. Do be quiet.
Yeah I suppose so but don't forget Henry was already way better than Cisse for his country, was already playing an a great world cup, and was ostensibly a winger on the right so he has switched position. Now he plays through the centre moving out to the LEFT!!!!!! This innovation is never possible with a player like Cisse. He is way too inflexible and immobile in comparison with Henry. In fact there is no comparison. So stop talking your rubbish, Matty boy. Ha. Oh, do!
Calibre my arse, perhaps your brain is damaged by too many video games like James. May I suggest to red card this moron, he moans too much.
Hmmm. Except Henry was not a winger, he was a centre-forward who was told to play on the right when he went to Juve (and failed there for that reason). On top of which, that has nothing whatsoever to do with the actual point of the discussion, which is that judging a player after 10 games is utterly, utterly retarded. As to what is or is not possible with "a player like Cisse", I suggest you know more or less nothign about him as a player. Certainly, you are totally unaware of his standing in France, on the judgement (one Thierry Henry included) of people with considerably more credibility than you. "Immobile". Cisse. HAHAHAHA!!! Dismissed on that basis alone.
David James was **********ing **********. He could stop shots but he would do ridiculous things - errors of judgement that make him an everage keeper at best.
i quite rated jamo, the difference is he also had a pants defence infront of him, brucie would of been labelled crap had he not had hansen lawro et al infront of him!! dont be so hard on the guy
Good shot stopper, crap concentration. So fine, he had some dodgy defences in front of him. But that doesn't excuse the entirely personal blunders that were a regular feature of his game. You could have the finest defence in the history of the game, if you drop a cross in the six-yard box and then fall over like a tart, it's your fault.
But brucie made some just as ridiculous judgements too, at least jamo didnt try to make money by cheating our club out of results, he helped us but at the same time he betrayed us, inexcusable
it would be libel as it is not spoken, I have my opinion as to what went on and you have yours, lets agree to disagree on that, my original point is that both had different class of defenders infront of them and so maybe even the great Clem would have looked like Jamo behind that defence, not all the blame can be put at Jamo, Kvarme and that shower were possibly the worst defensive unit ever
You're right - not all the blame can go to James. But as has been pointed out, defenders lose confidence in front of a dodgy keeper, just as much as keepers lose confidence behind a defence without confidence. Catch 22.
