    for fun, as I'm bored
All time best Irish team in my eyes, including Ulster

    startin IX

    Liam Brady Norman Whiteside
    George Best
    Damien Duff Kieth Gillepsie
    Roy Keane
Denis Irwin Paul McGrath David O'Leary John O'Shea
    Packie Bonner

    Have on the bench:
    Frank Stapleton
    John Aldridge
    Ray Houghton
    Steve Staunton
    Stephen Carr
    Robbie Keane
    Niall Quinn
    Shay Given
    Andy Townsend
    Kevin Moran
    Sammy McIllroy
    ian Harte

I know some guys are quite young to include, but I'll bank on the promise

Brady up front? Gillespie? O'Shea with 4 caps is in the side? Other than Best you have no one who played football in the 70s or 60s. Not a comprehensive list.

What about Blanchflower, Liam Whelan, Giles, Jennings, Dougan, Ronnie Whelan, Mick & Con Martin, Givens, Carey? And that's w/o really thinking too hard.

Do you really think that only 4 Northern Irish players are worthy of inclusion?

I would add in Martin O'Neill there too.

    Ian Harte, my god!!

Keith Gillespie, even worse!! So he is better than Houghton & Aldridge. Where is Ronnie Whelan??

How can O'shea be an all time great, he's been playing 1st team football for less than a year.

Harte has to be the best yet.....

kinda put in Harte as I was testing the limits of my knowledge of Irish football. He may not be great at coverage, but is solid on free kicks.
O'Shea is more of a prediction, plus I didn't want to start Saunton.
Gillespie was a very good winger, and with him and Duff on the outsides it would create a alot room for Georgie in the middle.

I am only 29, so I put in the players I have seen something of.
Didn't mean to intentionally disinclude the Ulstermen, they just haven't done much internationally lately (Although I could have added Neil Lennon).

Looks like those limits start at A and don't quite make it to B, let alone Z or C or F.

You have a lot to learn about Irish football.

Any All-time all-Ireland team that doesn't include Danny Blanchflower, Jackie Carey, and Pat Jennings is so laughable as to hardly warrant discussion.

    And that's just for starters.

He is at Blackburn at the moment, but there is talk of him going to West Brom, he has no future at Blackburn...Rumour is that Steven Reid will sign for Blackburn by the end of this week, that will be a good move!!

If they can keep Duff then they could have him on one wing and Reid on the other, not bad!

look at this for a REP team

Bonner; Irwin, McGrath, O'Leary, Staunton; Houghton, Keane, Townsend (capt.), Sheedy; Quinn, Aldridge

believe it or not that was the lineout when the rep played albania in dublin in 1992.

we only scraped home 2-0. albania were a sorry mess in those days.

big Jack had them pumping the ball up to quinn and aldridge running around like a blue arsed fly.

he really was a crap football manager. considering the talent he had at his disposal.
