    Luís Figo
    Portugal
    Pool B

Figo is the best winger of the modern era and of his generation - he will go down in history as one of the true football greats. He could beat the best fullbacks with his dribbling skills, acceleration and feints - delivering inch perfect crosses or making perfectly weighted through-balls. Platini will be able to pick out Figo on the right flank, or when Platini drifts out wide, Figo will come inside and drive through the middle.

With his combination of skill and energy and his elegant but busy style, he should help the midfield tick as well as providing running/ball recovering abilities and no doubt chance creating qualities too.

    Andriy Shevchenko (Ukraine)

With his pace, clever movement, agility, skill and goalscoring ability he should be able to be a complete type of striker as well providing a focul point for the attack and an outlet for through balls from midfield

    Xavi
    Spain
    Pool B

Xavi was the symbol and heartbeat of the Barca and Spanish teams that dominated world football. A central midfielder who would control games with his metronome passing, ball control and vision. Alongside Platini, we will aim to exploit space across the pitch, and dictate the tempo of the game.
